Shastri (2024) Movie: Soham Chakraborty Confirmed Shooting Wrap Up

On March 1, 2024, actor and producer Soham Chakraborty confirmed the wrap-up of his upcoming film Shastri through his social media handle. The movie stars Mithun Chakraborty and Debashree Roy in the lead roles, with Sauraseni Maitra, Soham Chakraborty, Kaushik Sen, Rajatava Dutta, and Ambarish Bhattacharya also featuring in significant roles.

Directed by Pathikrit Basu, Shastri commenced shooting on January 31 this year, with the motion poster unveiled on October 16 last year. The film is jointly produced by Surinder Films and Soham’s Entertainment and Creative Solutions Pvt Ltd.

Mithun Chakraborty and Debashree Roy, known for their previous blockbusters, reunite after 14 years, sparking anticipation among audiences eager to see this iconic pair grace the big screen once again. Shastri is slated for release in theaters during Durga Puja this year, competing with Srijit Mukherji’s Tekka, Nandita Roy-Shiboprosad Mukhejee’s Bohurupi, and Anik Dutta’s Joto Kando Kolkatatei.

Pathikrit Basu’s prior directorial venture was Kacher Manush. Mithun Chakraborty was last seen in the blockbuster film Kabuliwala last year, while Soham Chakraborty's recent appearance was in Pradhan. Debashree Roy's latest role was in Chemistry Mashi, Ambarish Bhattacharya featured in Pariah, and Sauraseni Maitra appeared in Sada Ronger Prithibi.
