Uttoron Review: Story:
The newly married couple Parna (Madhumita Sarcar) & Abhi(Rajdeep Gupta) returned home to their daily life after enjoying their honeymoon. Parna is an English teacher in a school & Abhi is a doctor by profession. After returning from school Parna waits for Abhi to spend some quality time together & they are very happy.
Suddenly, one day Tanaya (Swastika Dutta) received a video from her friend Paromita. She saw it was an MMS where Parna’s face was visible but the male face was not. She forwarded the video to her boyfriend Nilarko (Sawon Chakraborty). Like her many others had already seen the video on the internet.
Parna came to know about the video from her colleague Oli (Bidipta Chakraborty), who was informed by her daughter about it. Parna felt neglected at home & received rude behavior from Abhi. She was forced to sleep outside the room for a few days & later was asked to sign the divorce paper.
She found some support & courage to face the situation from Nilarko, who had reached his friend Arnab, a Police Officer, for some help regarding this scandal. The rest of the story revolves around how Parna deals with & comes out of this situation.
Uttoron Review: Performances & Analysis
A few of those scenes in Uttoron (Resurrection) that may blow your mind are:
The first scene I must mention is the conversation between Rajdeep Gupta & Arindam Ganguly, where the former accepts his failure in dealing with losses.
The conversation between Sawon Chakraborty & Swastika Dutta, where the former delivers the best dialogues of the Uttoron web series, one of them was “Love is not just a bond; it also gives you the freedom to fly”.
The conversation between Sawon Chakraborty & Madhumita Sarcar, where the former helped the latter to find her individuality, and her worth, & encouraged her to fight against all odds.
The climax scene where Madhumita Sarcar looked so much in control while delivering those dialogues flawlessly, is probably the best part of Uttoron.
Sawon Chakraborty is the show-stealer of Uttoron. He quite naturally did exactly what a family person needs to do during the tough times for a girl. He supported her, staying by her side, and giving her the courage, and the power to find her worth. He was also among one of the supporting cast of Ekannoborti.
Madhumita Sarcar has areas to improve especially in those emotional scenes, where sometimes things looked so much over-dramatic. She will be featured in Kuler Achaar opposite Vikram Chatterjee. Rajdeep Gupta as Abhi & Swastika Dutta as Tanaya both were convincing.
Uttoron Review: Final Words
The first couple of episodes & the last episode were engaging ones while the middle episodes looked stretched a little bit & over-dramatic in Uttoron.
Director Joydeep Mukherjee should be appreciated for such a brilliant execution of a sensitive topic. It is really good to see the Bengali Film industry is pushing the limits and trying unique content to attract more audiences. The background score by Raja Narayan Deb was also quite praiseworthy.
His notable directorial projects include movies like Detective, FIR & web series like Rudrabinar Obhishaap, Paap Season 2 Antim Pawrbo, Shei Je Holud Pakhi Season 2, Eken Babu Season 4.
I also liked the way they have promoted Ritwick Chakraborty-Ishaa Saha-Suhotra Mukhopadhyay starrer web series Gora through Uttoron.
