Shastri (2024) Bengali Movie: The Maker Unveiled The 2nd Official Poster

On January 31, 2024, Surinder Films unveiled the second official poster of their upcoming film Shastri, and confirmed the commencement of shooting with the quote, "Ek Aashirbaadei Shunyo Theke Baajimat, Shooting Shuru Mathay Rekhe Shastri er Haat."

Directed by Pathikrit Basu, known for the film Kache Manush, the movie stars Mithun Chakraborty in the titular role. It is a joint venture of Surinder Films and Soham’s Entertainment & Creative Solutions and is scheduled to hit theaters during the Durga Puja festivities this year. The cast includes Sauraseni Maitra, Soham Chakraborty, Kaushik Sen, Rajatava Dutta, and Ambarish Bhattacharya in crucial roles.

The film marks the return of one of the favorite pairs, Mithun Chakraborty & Debasree Roy, who previously collaborated in movies such as "Yuddho," "Nadi Theke Sagare," "Mahaguru," "MLA Fatakeshto," "Abhimanyu," "Tiger," "Troyee," and "Shukno Lonka."

Mithun Chakraborty was last seen in the Suman Ghosh-directed film Kabuliwala. Sauraseni Maitra, known for Sada Ronger Prithibi & Sedin Kuyasha Chilo, will have her films released in theaters this month, and she will also feature in Raj Chakraborty’s upcoming film Babli.

Debasree Roy is making her OTT debut this month with director Sourav Chakraborty’s Chemistry Mashi on Hoichoi. Ambarish Bhattacharya was last seen in Avijit Sen’s Pradhan and will also be featured in upcoming films like Pariah and Aukh Bisukh.

Kaushik Sen appeared in 3 projects last year: Ardhangini, Mr. Kolketa, & Sampurna 2. Rajatava Dutta recently appeared in projects like Bogla Mama Jug Jug Jiyo & Shibpur.
