On January 27, 2024, the production house ADited Motion Pictures confirmed that the shooting of their upcoming film Devi Chowdhurani: Bandit Queen of Bengal, has commenced. They announced, "Unlock the gates to an extraordinary tale! The shooting of Devi Chowdhurani kicks off today. A riveting story awaits, filled with drama, passion, and the essence of a timeless legend."
Directed by Subhrajit Mitra, the film stars Srabanti Chatterjee in the titular role. Based on the novel by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, this Pan-India film has been jointly produced by ADited Motion Pictures, LOK Studios, HC Films, and Moringa Studios.
The cast includes Prosenjit Chatterjee as Bhabani Pathak, Bibriti Chatterjee as Nishi, Darshana Banik as Sagar, Kinjal Nanda as Brojeswar Roy, Arjun Chakrabarty as Rangaraj, and Sabyasachi Chakrabarty as Haraballav Roy, all making valuable contributions to the film. Additionally, Alex O’Nell and Carl Harte will be seen in significant roles.
The screenplay and dialogues have been penned by the director, Subhrajit Mitra. Bickram Ghosh will compose the music, Anirban Chatterjee will handle the cinematography, and Sujay Dutta Ray will edit the film.
Srabanti Chatterjee will also be featured in Amar Boss and Ami Amar Moto. Prosenjit Chatterjee is set to appear in upcoming films such as Daktar Kaku and Ajogya. Arjun Chakrabarty will be seen in Prantik, Kabaddi Kabaddi, and Kath Badamer Gandho, while Darshana Banik will be featured in Antaratma and Mrigaya.
