Chemistry Mashi Bengali Web Series: Sourav Chakraborty’s upcoming directorial venture features Debashree Roy in the lead

Director Sourav Chakraborty, fresh off the success of his superhit series Rajneeti and gearing up for Abar Rajneeti, is set to bring the versatile actor Debashree Roy into his upcoming project titled "Chemistry Mashi." The screenplay and dialogues for this series have been penned by Sourav Chakraborty, Isha Sarkar, and Abhra Chakraborty, with shooting scheduled to commence in October 2023.

On the grand occasion of Hoichoi's 7th season, an announcement teaser was unveiled, featuring Debashree Roy, who will not only teach us about chemistry but also share some delightful recipes. The 1-minute and 13-second announcement teaser showcases the versatile actress portraying the character of a Vlogger.

She intriguingly asks, "Do chicken weigh the same after adding ingredients like yogurt and spices after cooking? If not, what causes the difference?" To uncover the answer, she will be taking us through the first chapter, which explores the laws of chemical combinations. Whether it's an exam, matters of the heart, or the culinary arts, chemistry plays a vital role.

Debashree Roy, a powerhouse of talent in the Tollywood industry, has showcased her acting prowess in Bengali, Hindi, Odia, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and English films. Her acting journey began in 1966 with "Pagal Thakur," and she made her debut in a lead role with "Nadi Theke Sagare."

In the Hindi film industry, she debuted in 1978 with "Ghata" and has since appeared in 15 Hindi films, including two guest appearances. Her only Tamil film was "Manaivi Ready" in 1987, while in 1978, she graced the Malayalam film industry with "Ee Ganam Marakkumo." She made her Odia film debut in 1989 with "Topaye Sindura Dipata Shankha."

In 1972, she ventured into the Kannada film industry with "Sipayi Ramu." She also made appearances in Hindi TV series like "Mahabharat," "Banjara," and "Samarpan." Furthermore, she hosted "Didi No 1 Season 5" on Zee Bangla in 2013. Prior to "Chemistry Mashi," her last appearance was in "Hothat Dekha" in 2017.

Debashree Roy's filmography boasts an array of remarkable films, including "Unishe April," "Thikana," "Anutap," "36 Chowringhee Lane," "Asukh," "Daho," "Teesta," "Prem," "Sandhyatara," "Dekha," "Bhalobasa Bhalobasa," "Shilpantar," "Mayabini," "Nayanmani," "Louhakapat," "Jhankar," "Binodini," "Chokher Aloy," and "Ek Je Ache Kanya," among others, showcasing her finest performances.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, she frequently collaborated with renowned actors such as Prosenjit Chatterjee, Chiranjeet Chakraborty, and Tapas Paul. In addition to her acting prowess, she is also celebrated for her folk dance performances.

She appeared in "Mahisasurmardini" in 2012, and to date, she has graced the silver screen in more than 100 films and garnered over 40 awards. Her outstanding performance in "Unishe April" earned her the National Film Award in 1995 in the "Best Actress" category.

Chemistry Mashi promises to be an exciting collaboration, and we are eagerly anticipating Debashree Roy's exceptional acting once again in her OTT debut.
