Kacher Manush Movie Review: Story

The story revolves around the LIC agent Sudarshan (Prosenjit Chatterjee) and Kuntol (Dev) who is unemployed. Both of them have their own problems Kuntol needs money for the treatment of his paralyzed mother(Tulika Basu) and Sudarshan needs money for the treatment of his sister Aalo(Ishaa Saha).

Both met at the suicidal point and Sudarshan offers Kuntol a deal that will benefit both in some way. Kuntol has to buy an insurance policy from Sudarshan and if they can show Kuntol’s death is accidental then the nominee will get a hefty amount of rupees 10 lakh. If Kuntol makes Sudarshan a nominee then Sudarshan will utilize the money for his sister’s treatment as well as Kuntol’s mother’s treatment. This means someone’s death will save another person’s life.

Kuntol agreed and they started planning for his death so that it looks like an accidental death. Kuntol falls for Aalo who left a big impact on changing Kuntol’s thoughts, so he changed his mind about suicide. Now how Kuntol and Sudarshan will arrange money for the treatment?

Kacher Manush Movie Review: Performances & Analysis

The biggest challenge for director Pathikrit Basu in Kacher Manush was directing a movie with two superstars of the industry keeping in mind the audience’s expectations and that too for a Durga Puja release. The movie mainly focused on the concept of someone’s death will save another person’s life which makes it worth watching.

Audiences are definitely happy watching Dev and Prosenjit Chatterjee together again on the big screen and I must say that both of them have done their job brilliantly. The narrative was able to hold the audience’s attention with an engaging first half including dark comedy and a few twists in it. But as the story progressed the narrative looked a bit disjointed. Editing and Susmita Chatterjee’s character are the other areas that should have been taken care of.

Dev and Prosenjit Chatterjee delivered impressive performances with their respective characters. Ishaa Saha as Aalo also looks brilliant and her chemistry with Dev was another plus point of Kacher Manush. After Kishmish, once again Nilayan Chatterjee’s music has been highly appreciated by audiences.

Kacher Manush Movie Review: Final Words

Kacher Manush stands out due to the superb dark comedy in the first half, Pathikrit Basu’s direction, and the solid performances of Dev, Prosenjit Chatterjee, and Ishaa Saha.
