Kolkata Cholontika (2022) Bengali Movie Story:
After directing hit movies like Babar Naam Gandhiji, Rosogolla, and Asur, Pavel Bhattacharjee is back again in the director’s chair for his upcoming movie titled Kolkata Cholontika.
Pavel & Professor Swati Biswas penned the story of Kolkata Cholontika, while the screenplay and dialogues were by Pavel.
The story is based on the collapse of the Posta flyover at Ganesh Talkies which resulted in the death of 26 people while several others were severely injured. How the lives of people were before the overpass crashed, on the day of the overpass crash & after the overpass crash, will be shown in this film.
After his debut movie, Babar Naam Gandhiji director Pavel raised the bar of audiences’ expectations from each of his movies by working on unique concepts every time. His last movie Asur starring actors Jeet, Abir Chatterjee & actress Nusrat Jahan which was released in 2020, was a tribute to the famous sculptor Ramkinkar Baij. His upcoming directorial movies are Mon Kharap, & Doctor Kaku.
The Debut of Kiran Dutta (The Bong Guy):
The famous Youtuber Kiran Dutta who is popularly known as The Bong Guy will make his debut in Bengali Film Industry with the movie Kolkata Cholontika. Shatabdi Chakraborty will also be making her debut with this movie.
Anirban Chakrabarti, Ishaa Saha, Ditipriya Roy, Aparajita Adhya, Kharaj Mukherjee, Rajatava Dutta, and Saurav Das will be playing lead roles in the movie.
Anirban Chakrabarti’s “Eken Babu Season 5” was released this year in October month while “Mukhosh” & “Maradonar Juto” were released in August & April respectively.
Actress Ishaa Saha paired opposite Dev in Golondaaj movie which received mostly positive reviews from critics as well as audiences. She will be also seen in upcoming projects like Indu Season 1, Kacher Manush, Mahananda, and Sahobase.
Kharaj Mukhopadhyay was last seen in “Habu Chandra Raja Gobu Chandra Montri” and his upcoming movie is Kishmish.
Aparajita Adhya, one of the versatile actresses in the Bengali Film Industry, has won the hearts of audiences with her outstanding performances in movies like Praktan, Haami, Open Tee Bioscope, Cheeni, Goynar Baksho, Projapoti Biskut, Generation Ami, “Bela Seshe, Madly Bangalee, Samantaral, etc. She also won the Filmfare award for her top-notch performance in a supporting role in the movie Praktan. Her upcoming projects are Bela Shuru, Fatafati, and Ekannoborti.
Actor Rajatava Datta who is also part of this movie will be seen in the upcoming Bangladeshi film “Bikkhov “ directed by Shamim Ahamed Roni.

Kolkata Cholontika will be bankrolled by producer Shatadru Chakraborty under his banner Baba Bhootnath Entertainment and is expected to be released in 2022.
Ditipriya Roy who is famous for her role in the show Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni, will also play an important role in this movie. She made her debut in Bengali Film Industry with director Srijit Mukherji’s movie Rajkahini. She will be making her Bollywood debut in director Diya Annapurna Ghosh’s new movie Bob Biswas starring Abhishek Bachchan & Chitrangada Singh in the lead roles.
