Abar Rajneeti Web Series: Will Kaushik Ganguly return as Pratim Banerjee?

After the resounding success of the political thriller Rajneeti on Hoichoi, Director Sourav Chakraborty has been immersed in two new projects: Abar Rajneeti and Chemistry Mashi.

The first season of Rajneeti earned its acclaim through exceptional storytelling, bolstered by the outstanding performances of Kaushik Ganguly, Ditipriya Roy, Arjun Chakrabarty, Koneenica Banerjee, and Aniruddha Gupta.

In celebration of Hoichoi's 7th season, an announcement teaser for the sequel of this political thriller was unveiled. Sourav Chakraborty, the director himself, has penned the screenplay and script for this series.

The teaser starts by shedding light on both the positive and negative facets of politics in Rijpur, alongside key moments from the first season. It harks back to a news report from five years ago, detailing the disappearance of Rathin Banerjee's brother, Pratim Banerjee, in a landslide in Uttarakhand.

Is this a mere accident, or is a more profound political conspiracy at play? Fast forward to the present day, an elderly man emerges, his face and head covered in hair. Who is this enigmatic figure? Could it be Pratim Banerjee? Is Kaushik Ganguly returning as Pratim Banerjee?

Kaushik Ganguly, who portrayed the character of politician Rathin Banerjee in the first season, returns to the fold. Ditipriya Roy as Rashi, Koneenica Banerjee as Rashi's mother Mallika, Aniruddha Gupta as Dr. Debojit, and Arjun Chakrabarty as Rashi's fiancé Saunak are set to reprise their original roles.

The stage is set for a fierce battle for the political throne in Rijpur, as Rashi and her mother square off. Are there other contenders in this high-stakes battle? Who will emerge victorious? Abar Rajneeti on Hoichoi promises to unveil the answers.

Shyamal Chakraborty had a limited screen presence in season 1 and am expecting him to play a significant role in season 2. His exceptional acting skills were previously showcased in Anirban Bhattacharya's directorial horror comedy Ballavpurer Rupkatha.
