Ashram Webseries Review

Today we will discuss about the Aashram Webseries Review. Director Prakash Jha has finally made his debut on OTT platform through Aashram webseries. The story begins with a scene where we saw a young girl was beating the warden of a hostel.

On the very next scene we saw two girls, one belonging to a high society and other from a Dalit family, fighting in a wrestling match. Pammi (played by Aaditi Pohankar) actually won the match but being from a Dalit family, the referee called for a foul and gave to trophy to Sangeeta.

A groom from a Dalit family wished for riding horse like high society people to reach bride’s home. While crossing the high society’s area Pammi’s brother Satti (played by Tushar Pandey) and others were badly beaten. They went to local police station to file a complaint against those high society people but SI Ujagar Singh (Darshan Kumaar) tried to warn them the coming danger may arrive because of the attempt to murder complaint.

The high society people forced to doctor not to treat Satti, on the Baba Nirala Kashipur Wala (played by Bobby Deol) arrived and sorted out the incident. Babaji’s right hand Bhopa (played by Chandan Roy Sanyal) executes every plan and looks after almost every major activities of Ashram.

At first Pammi then her brother decided to be a devotee of Babaji. Satti was given the task to marry a prostitute Bobita (played by Tridha Choudhury); initially he declines to but later agreed. Slowly Satti was getting into the trap of Babaji which he was unaware of.

During the construction works of Mishra Golbal Projects Private Limited Company a skeleton was found and sent for investigation. Post-mortem specialist doctor Natasha (played by Anupriya Goenka) informed that it was the skeleton of a girl and she was brutally murdered. Natasha’s beauty and honesty attracted Ujagar Singh and he decided to find out the culprits of that unidentified girl.

To get young devotees for some political benefits Babaji approaches modern pop singer Teenka Singh (played by Adhyayan Suman) to agree on Babaji’s given proposal but he rejected. Later he was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau for using drugs which was a conspiracy by Babaji to bring Teenka Singh in his shelter.

Director Prakash Jha was in his usual best. His movies like Gangajal, Rajneeti, Apaharan were some of the best of his career. His digital debut was equally effective and hopefully he will keep delivering us such wonderful contents in future also.

Bobby Deol’s presence has made a big difference in Ashram webseries. Here he has portrayed the character of a Godman beautifully. He has already impressed us with his performance in the latest released movie “Class Of 83”.

Aaditi Pohankar has already delivered a powerful performance in “She” webseries. In “Aashram” webseries her role of a Dalit girl who is also a wrestler offered good support to make the star cast stronger.

Chandan Roy Sanyal has also provided a noteworthy performance here. After his good performance in Avrodh, Darshan Kumaar and also his colleague Vikram Kochchar did a very good job here with their respective roles.

Anupriya Goenka, Tridha Choudhury, Tushar Pandey, Adhyayan Suman also justified their roles so well with some spectacular performances.

Ram Singh Charlie Movie Review

Movie Name: Ram Singh Charlie

Director: Nitin Kakkar

Story, Screenplay & Dialogues: Nitin Kakkar & Sharib Hashmi

Producers: Umesh Pawar, Nitin Kakkar & Sharib Hashmi

Music: Arijit Datta

Casts: Kumud Mishra, Divya Dutta, Salima Raza, Surandra Rajan, Akarsh Khurana, Farrukh Seyer, Sharib Hashmi, Rohit Rokhade

Ram Singh Charlie Movie Review: The sudden shut down of Jango circus had left everyone shocked involved in it. When Masterji (played by Salima Raza) decided to handover the responsibilities of the circus to her son Nabeel (played by Akarsh Khurana), he got less interested in continuing the circus with no profit from it. He announces advance three months’ salary to all of the co-workers for shutting down the circus.

Masterji asked Ram Singh (played by Kumud Mishra), an artist of that circus popularly known as Charlie within that group about his next step, so he informed about not returning to their village instead staying there and search for the same role somewhere else.

They moved to Kolkata and after several attempts he failed to get any chance anywhere. Ram Singh was getting worried thinking about his pregnant wife Kajri (played by Divya Dutta) and their son Chintu (played by Rohit Rokhade).

After few days of attempts he finally decided to become a rickshaw puller to meet their daily needs. Other artists of that circus also moved to different jobs to earn for their living. The violin player now plays into a sub-way, two dwarves, Short (Lilliput) and Cut (K.K. Goswami) has become watchmen of a bar. In between Kajri gave birth to another baby and returned to live with Ram Singh from village.

One of his friends Shahjahan (played by Farrukh Seyer) helped him with some money to fulfill his dream of setting up his own circus. Being unable to accept the insult from a bar-goer Cut slapped him and was beaten very badly and got hospitalized. Ram Singh had prioritized Cut’s life as more important than his dreams and without thinking too much he went to help Cut with those money. Rest of the story revolved around how Ram Singh was finally able to fulfill his dream.

Director Nitin Kakkar took us to those times when we used to find many circuses here and there which have given people so much pleasure and entertainment. He was excellent in showing us the real struggles of an artist and the storytelling was really good & articulate. Composer Arijit Datta along with Troy-Arif was able to provide us some good music.

Without a second thought we can easily tell that Ram Singh Charlie Movie was one of the best performances of Kumud Mishra’s career. He got very well support from Divya Dutta who has provided a spectacular performance here.

Other casts including Salima Raza, Surandra Rajan, Akarsh Khurana, Farrukh Seyer, Sharib Hashmi, Rohit Rokhade provided good support to keep the story solid throughout.

Ram Singh Charlie is streaming on SonyLIV.

Mee Raqsam Movie Review

Mee Raqsam Movie Review

Movie Name: Mee Raqsam

Producer & Director: Baba Azmi

Writers: Safdar Mir, Husain Mir

Music: Ripul Sharma

Casts: Aditi Subedi, Danish Husain, Naseeruddin Shah, Kaustubh Shukla, Sudeepta Singh, Shraddha Kaul, Farrukh Jafar, Rakesh Chaturvedi Om

Mee Raqsam Movie Review: While one must be quite bored of watching crime thrillers which are releasing so frequently these days, “Mee Raqsam” movie offers some relief to them with a different and unique content.

The story revolves around a Tailor Salim (played by Danish Husain) and his daughter Maryam (played by Aditi Subedi). We have seen a strong bonding between father and daughter here. Maryam’s mother loved Bharatnatyam dancing and she used to tell Maryam to participate with her sometimes and from there some passion grows within her for Bharatnatyam.

Her Mother died after long illness. After observing her passion for dance Salim tells her to join the Bharatnatyam dance class. Her dance teacher Uma (played by Sudeepta Singh) was impressed with her performance from day 1.

Mariyam’s relatives especially her aunt (played by Shraddha Kaul) and grandmother (played by Farrukh Jafar) were not happy with the decision so she was forced to join sewing class. After coming to know about Maryam’s absence in the class Uma met with her father and praised about her fast learning. The businessman Jaiprakash(played by Rakesh Chaturvedi Om) tried to demean Salim showing some religion issues.

Salim spoke about the situation then Uma showed them a way which can help Mariyam to continue to dance class before going to her school. This continues for some days and she was so happy to re-join her dance class. Slowly the religious leader Hashim Seth (played by Naseeruddin Shah) came to know about this and he tried to stop Salim from sending Mariyam to that dance school but her father was firm on his decision.

Day after day they were getting deprived of every facilities starting from going to Mosque to disconnecting their electricity. Mariyam was slowing understanding that everything was happening because of her attending the dance class. An open-minded auto-driver Ashfaque (played by Kaustubh Shukla) helped them in their difficult time with bringing some auto driver for making their clothes from Salim.

Uma told Mariyam the good news about sending her and another girl’s name for the Inter District Bharatnatyam Competition but she informed Uma about not attending the dance class anymore. Her father tried to convince her for continuing the dance ignoring every difficulty but failed.

Suddenly one day two guys came on bike and broke their window by throwing stones and on that day she decides to continue her dance as well as participating in the competition. Rest of the story is about whether she could the competition or not ignoring the barriers.

Danish Husain was excellent throughout. His character of a father, supporting her daughter to live her own dreams makes this one really special. The father-daughter relationship was something extraordinary.

Aditi Subedi was also brilliant and her dance performance in the end was awesome. Naseeruddin Shah has done his job so well even with a special appearance.

Director Baba Azmi has made his directorial debut somehow effective by bringing a good content but except few notable performances from Aditi Subedi, Danish Husain, Naseeruddin Shah others failed to impress.

Class Of 83 Movie Review: We have seen many cops and gangsters thrillers before in Hindi movies, the latest one is “Class Of 83” movie which is streaming on Netflix. The story of this movie is based on the book, The Class Of 83: The Punishers of Mumbai Police by crime journalist S. Hussain Zaidi.

Class Of 83 movie tells us the story of mid-1980 in Mumbai. A bunch of students from Police Training Centre, Nashik were so much excited to get training from Dean Vijay Singh(played by Bobby Deol), who was sentenced to a punishment posting as the centre’s Dean. Initially they were trained by only the PT & weapons training instructor Mangesh Dixit(played by Vishwajeet Pradhan). Their first semester was almost over but they are yet to see Dean.

Shukla(played by Bhupendra Jadawat), Aslam(played by Sameer Paranjape) & Varde(played by Hitesh Bhojraj) planned to make an attack on Mangesh Dixit but unfortunately they were beaten by Dean and were forced to escape from the spot. The next day their long-term wish of getting taught by Dean was fulfilled but not on a good note as they were caught in no time by Dean.

Dean had decided to turn those five students including Shukla, Aslam, Varde, Jadav(played by Ninad Mahajani) & Surve(played by Prithvik Pratap) secretly into encounter specialists. Two gangs were ruling over then in Mumbai Kalsekar Gang and Naik Gang. These five genius had killed many gang members from both the gangs.

DGP Raghav Desai(played by Joy Sengupta) was doubting Vijay’s involvement in those murders as those five students were from Dean’s first batch. The corrupted CM Patkar(played by Anup Soni) had called Raghav to alert him about the pressure he is getting due to those killing of gang members.

In between 4 out of those 5 men got corrupted and join those two gangs but Aslam kept him out of this corruption. Vijay Singh trusted an hands over some tasks to Aslam for his sincerity and he was doing quite well but on the day of his marriage he was killed by Kalsekar gang. Rest of the story revolves around how those 4 men regains Vijay’s trust and whether they were able to take the revenge of their friend’s death.

Class Of 83 marks Bobby Deol’s debut on OTT platform. The movie certainly stands among one of the best performances in Bobby Deol’s career till date. He has given his best efforts to make his digital debut a sweeter experience.

Vishwajeet Pradhan as PT & weapons training instructor of the centre was really good. Anup Soni &  Joy Sengupta also were absolutely brilliant in their respective characters.

The five newcomers Hitesh Bhojraj, Bhupendra Jadawat, Sameer Paranjape, Ninad Mahajani, Prithvik Pratap were equally effective. They had played their roles so well with some natural acting which may leave you amazed. We rarely came across with a bunch of such new talents having some great potential and most importantly director Atul Sabharwal is very much successful in utilizing them properly to bring the best out of them.

A mixed of some stunning performances, good music and smartly executed action sequences has made “Class Of 83” a worthy watch.

Dangerous Webseries Review

 Dangerous Webseries Review

Webseries Name: Dangerous

Director: Bhushan Patel

Producers: Mika Singh & Vikram Bhatt

Music: Mika Singh , Sharib Toshi, Payal Dev, Hardik & Vicky

Cast: Karan Singh Grover, Bipasha Basu, Sonali Raut, Nitin Arora, Suyyash Rai, Natasha Suri

Dangerous Webseries Review: Bipasha Basu is back after almost five years and with “Dangerous” webseries she made her debut on OTT platform. Her last movie “Alone” was also directed by Bhushan Patel.

The story begins with Diya (played by Sonali Raut) wife of Aditya Dhanraj(played by Karan Singh Grover) gone missing. To solve the mystery London Police Department assigns the case to the top cop Neha (played by Bipasha Basu) who was also the ex-girlfriend of Aditya.

After starting the investigation Neha came to know that Aditya and Diya were not like the other happily married couples and they used to fight very often. Aditya had appointed his close friend Vishal (played by Suyyash Rai) as Diya’s driver to observe her movements as Aditya was suspecting Diya of having an extra-marital affair.

Then one day Aditya received a call from the kidnappers asking for a ransom of three million pounds. Aditya was ready to pay any amount to get Diya back in his life. During the investigation Neha came to know that it was Vishal who kidnapped Diya, also informed that Diya was having an affair with him. The next call from Vishal came with a twist as he sent an ankle buster and throws a condition to Aditya that to get back Diya, Neha must come with him wearing the ankle bracelet while bringing the ransom.

Aditya disagrees with the condition as he doesn’t want to risk Neha’s life for Diya but later Neha convinced Aditya. After handing over the ransom to Vishal they came to know that Diya was given Arsenic Poison which ended her life.

Some more twists were there on the later episodes of the series which kept the story exciting. The episodes were quite short where each episode consisting a duration of nearly 20 minutes.

Director Bhushan Patel was successful in keeping the suspense alive till the last episode. The plot was little weak and thrill was missing.

Bipasha Basu had very less to offer as per the role she was given here. Karan Singh Grover left a good impact overall. Other casts including Sonali Raut, Nitin Arora, Suyyash Rai, Natasha Suri had tried their part quite well. Listen to the song “Har Dua Mein Tumko Maanga” sung by Payal Dev was the top song of this series.

Abhay 2 Webseries Review

 Abhay 2 Webseries Review

Webseries Name: Abhay 2

Director: Ken Ghosh

Writers: Sudhanshu Sharma, Samita Mukherjee, Christabelle D'Souza and Priya Saggi

Producer: B.P. Singh, Renu B.P. Singh

Music: Ajay Singha

Cast: Kunal Kemmu, Ram Kapoor, Chunkey Pandey, Asha Negi, Bidita Bag, Nidhi Singh, Devender Chaudhury

Abhay 2 Webseries Review: Abhay 2 certainly stands among one of the best crime thrillers in recent time. After the success of Abhay season 1, director Ken Ghosh has come up with some more thrilling stories in Abhay season 2. Chunkey Pandey has made his debut on OTT platform through this webseries. His character Harsh has showed us the brutality in murdering his victims.

Abhay’s past still haunts him often but he has moved his son to a boarding school and currently living together with a Journalist named Sonam (played by Asha Negi ) & focusing on his job completely. His has an unbelievable capability to read any case and figure out the plan to catch the murderer as earliest possible.

9 meritorious students who were preparing for competitive exams got missing from local areas of Lucknow. The case was handed over to Special Task Force officer Abhay along with his team including Khushboo (played by Nidhi Singh), Awasthi (Devender Chaudhury) and two others.

Harsh (played by Chunkey Pandey) believed in gaining knowledge by eating some brilliant student’s brains, so he also killed his own wife. The STF Team started with some basic investigations and they found some clues to finally catch Harsh red handed while attempting to murder a student named Dhiren.

The next episode was about Saloni (played by Bidita Bag), a sex worker and she enjoys murdering her clients and keeping a tooth from those victims. While she was spending time with one of her favourite clients, STF team found her and before they can arrest her she kills herself.

Next episode showed us a mysterious kidnapper (played by Ram Kapoor) has kidnapped 35 children and two teachers out of which 25 have been successfully rescued by Abhay. Rest of those children will be released one by one if Abhay successfully solves the mystery given by the kidnapper.

The storytelling was quite different comparing to other crime thrillers as here you are getting an idea about the culprits before even the investigation starts. Nothing much to say about Director Ken Ghosh as he has showed us again his powerful direction skill in Abhay 2.

Kunal Kemmu as Abhay Pratap Singh, a Special Task Force Officer was simply standout. He continues his good performances. His last released movie Lootcase has earned him lots of praises for his good performance.

Ram Kapoor has been phenomenal in doing such a role with almost perfection. His look and body language was so scary and perfect for such a role. He has thrown challenges to Abhay which will unfold on next episodes.

Chunkey provided a spectacular performance on his digital debut. Nidhi Singh with her occasional good inputs on some cases was a fair choice for the role and Devender Chaudhury with his occasional jokes while investigating the cases was quite effective.

Asha Negi, popularly known for her performance in “Pavitra Rishta” daily soap, has already made her debut on OTT platform through the webseries “Baarish” opposite to Sharman Joshi. Her performance in Abhay 2 as a journalist, always trying to reveal the truth was good enough.

A complete packed up performances from the lead casts of the series has made Abhay 2 a must watch. Only three episodes are streaming currently and another 5 episodes will stream from 4th September onwards.

Abhay 2 is streaming on ZEE5.

Hoichoi's Detective Movie Review

 Detective Movie Review

Movie Name: Detective

Director: Joydeep Mukherjee

Producer: SVF Entertainment

Music: Joy Sarkar

Cast: Anirban Bhattacharya, Ishaa Saha, Trina Saha, Saheb Bhattacharya, Ambarish Bhattacharya

Detective Movie Review: The story of Bengali movie “Detective” is based on a story of Rabindranath Tagore. Detective Mahimchandra (played by Anirban Bhattacharya) who works in Government detective department always searches for some difficult cases. He is quite bored and disappointed with the unskilled criminals of Bengal. The story was told during the period when British Government tried to divide Bengal. Mahimchandra is married to Sudhamukhi (played by Ishaa Saha) but he fails to give much time to his beautiful wife as he keeps himself busy in reading detective books in free time.

Mahimchandra is assisted by Hutason (played by Ambarish Bhattacharya) in office whom he calls as Watson.  Hutason follows every order given by Mahimchandra and sometimes tries to provide him some of his own inputs in cases. He always gets those cases where finding the culprits is very easy and that makes him disappointed towards the criminals for their lack of planning in doing the crimes. So, he keeps planning some unique and difficult crimes in his mind where he finds the interest and excitement in catching those criminals. One day he finds a guy named Manmatha (played by Saheb Bhattacharya) as someone having the potentials to be a highly skilled criminal.

Manmatha and Sudhamukhi on their earlier days went to Prof. Arunabho Chattopadhyay, a freedom fighting group’s leader for their studies. When the professor got to know that Manmatha and Sudhamukhi are in love, he thought this might distract Manmatha from their prime goal of fighting for freedom. He planned and separates them which forced Sudhamukhi for marrying Mahimchandra on her parent’s wish. But they were in touch with each other even after the marriage.

Sneha (played by Trina Saha) was Mahimchandra’s younger widow sister who supported in Sudhamukhi’s household works. Mahimchandra keeps his focus on Manmatha to make him the killer of Bhupati (an old man of their locality). Rest of the story revolves around whether Mahimchandra finally succeeded on his conspiracy to prove Manmatha as a skilled criminal.

Music director Joy Sarkar was absolutely brilliant in providing some valuable music suitable to the script. Khelaghor Bandhte Legechi song which is sung by Madhuraa shows the tuneful composition of Joy.

Anirban Bhattacharya has already provided some top class performances in his previous movies. His ability to fit into any character makes him standout and Mahimchandra is no exception. He portrayed the character so well in “Detective”. We are hoping to get many more spectacular performances from him in coming days also.

Saheb Bhattacharya was excellent in portraying the character of Manmatha. Ambarish Bhattacharya as Mahimchandra’s assistant was convincing throughout. Ishaa Saha as Sudhamukhi was quite effective especially her innocence as a newly married wife was noticeable. Trina Saha was good in her short appearance.

The directionless storytelling in the middle might disappoint you a little bit but it was a solid performance from the lead casts of the movie which kept the story alive.

“Detective” movie is streaming on Hoichoi.

Khuda Haafiz Movie Review

Khuda Haafiz Movie Review

Movie Name: Khuda Haafiz
Writer & Director: Faruk Kabir
Producer: Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak
Music: Mithoon
Cast: Vidyut Jammwal, Shivaleeka Oberoi, Annu Kapoor, Aahana Kumra and Shiv Panditt

Khuda Haafiz Movie Review: Vidyut Jammwal starrer Khuda Haafiz movie released on 14th August 2020. The main plot of this movie revolves around Sameer, a software engineer (played by Vidyut Jammwal) went to Middle-Eastern country of Noman in search for his missing wife Nargis (played by Shivaleeka Oberoi).

Both of their families met for the purpose their arranged marriage, where they fell for each other on the very first meeting. Just after their marriage recession hits the world so badly that both of them lost their job. After sitting home jobless for almost 3 months they applied for jobs in Noman with the help of an agent Nadeem (played by Vipin Sharma).

While Nargis got the quick response to join the job, Sameer was yet to receive any such response. He was in hesitation initially to let her go alone to Noman but Nadeem assures him of her safety, so he agrees. Just after her arrival Sameer received a call and get to know that Nargis is in danger. He rushed to Nadeem’s office along with police but Nadeem informed them about having no information of Nargis’s arrival in Noman.

The information from Nadeem makes Sameer more worried about his wife and he immediately left for Noman where he met with taxi driver Usman Ali Murad (played by Annu Kapoor). Seeing Sameer’s helpless condition Usman decided to help him to find out his wife. During this search they were helped by two local cops Faiz Abu Malik (played by Shiv Panditt) and Tamena Hamid (played by Aahana Kumra). Rest of the story revolves around whether Sameer can find her wife or not.

Director Faruk Kabir made his directorial debut with the short film “The Awakening” starring Ajay Devgan in 2006. He has definitely left some good impact through his writing and direction in Khuda Haafiz movie. His upcoming multi-starrer web series has been titled as “Shockers”, which is India’s first horror web series.

Vidyut Jammwal is having a good run of movies for quite some time. Other than action movies he is also choosing different types of contents now. His previous movie “Yaara” was based on friendship of four friends and how their lives changed over the time. In Khuda Haafiz we have seen him playing an ordinary man who faces and overcome many hurdles to find his missing wife. The action sequences which are the best strength of Vidyut Jammwal were too good here.

Shivaleeka Oberoi didn’t get much scope as per the story but was good enough during her short presence also. Annu Kapoor was standout here and his dialogue delivery was excellent throughout. Shiv Panditt and Aahana Kumra had played their part quite good but their accent was not so pleasant.

Mithoon has tried quite well to offer some good songs and the title track as well as “Jaan Ban Gaye” was something that will keep you engaged in it for some time.

Khuda Haafiz movie is streaming on Disney+Hotstar VIP.

Bandish Bandits Webseries Review

Bandish Bandits Webseries Review

Webseries Name: Bandish Bandits

Director: Anand Tiwari

Producer: Still and Still Media Collective

Writer: Amritpal Singh Bindra & Lara Ahsan Chandni

Music: Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy

Cast: Naseeruddin Shah, Ritwik Bhowmik, Shreya Chaudhry, Atul Kulkarni, Tridha Choudhury, Rahul Kumar, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Rajesh Tailang, Amit Mistry, Sheeba Chaddha

Bandish Bandits Webseries Review: It’s been a long time that conflict is going on between classical music and pop music. Through “Bandish Bandits” webseries we came to know that it is still a strong debate even today also.

After forcing many time Kabir (played by Rahul Kumar) was finally was able to convince Radhe (played by Ritwik Bhowmik) to go to a concert performed by pop star Tamanna (played by Shreya Chaudhry). On the very first sight Radhe was completely speechless with Tamanna’s performance as well as with her beauty. Tamanna has a manager Arghya (played by Kunaal Roy Kapur) to take care of all her concerts and events.

Radhe’s Grandfather Pandit Radhemohan Rathod (played by Naseeruddin Shah) is considered as one of the best classical singers. He teaches many students for the growth in classical music and Radhe was among one of them. His interest towards classical music grows deeper at the same time he got offer from Tamanna to sing with her in her pop songs.

When Radhe came to know about his father Rajendra’s (Rajesh Tailang) worse financial conditions he decided to collaborate with Tamanna and help his father financially. Bandish Bandits was given the name of the collaboration where pop and classical had joined their hands together. Also, his elder brother Devendra Rathod(played by Amit Mistry) had supported well throughout.

Just when things were going well then Panditji’s elder son Digvijay (played by Atul Kulkarni) appeared. Considering Panditji’s bad health condition Digvijay approaches Panditji about his willingness to take over his position but Panditji had other thoughts as he has decided to handover it to Radhe. Digvijay was raring to go to win the Sangeet Samrat Rathod competition, while Panditji was afraid after watching Radhe’s performance. He kept pushing Radhe to improve his performance and give Digvijay a tough fight.

He faced some issues regarding his hearing at the later stage of life which forced him to make Radhe as his permanent replacement. On the other hand Radhe was getting so much popularity working with Tamanna as a Mask Man. In between Panditji had fixed Radhe’s marriage with Sandhya (played by Tridha Choudhury). Radhe was completely unhappy with this and asked for help to Kabir and he found some ways but later Sandhya was forced to send the rejection to Panditji considering Radhe’s situation.

After coming to know about Radhe’s interest and involvement in pop music Panditji refuses to teach him which forced Radhe’s mother Mohini (played by Sheeba Chaddha) to take the responsibility and prepare Radhe for the “Sangeet Samrat Rathod” competition.

The climax was quite interesting where we have seen a great competition between Digvijay and Radhe for the “Sangeet Samrat Rathod”.

When two versatile actors appear in the same frame then we get a mind-blowing performance. That is what we have experienced in “Bandish Bandits” through the performances of Naseeruddin Shah and Atul Kulkarni. Ritwik Bhowmik and Shreya Chaudhry had given their best performances till date.

Rahul Kumar, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Rajesh Tailang, Amit Mistry & Sheeba Chaddha were also able to give some notable performances. We have rarely seen such a spectacular performances from all the crucial artists of a movie or webseries that we have experienced in “Bandish Bandits”.

This was the digital debut for the music trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and they were successful in delivering an outstanding soulful composition.

Overall “Bandish Bandits” was a musical journey which will leave your heart engaged in those soulful tunes for quite some time.

Bandish Bandits Webseries is streaming on Amazon Prime.

Avrodh: The Siege Within Webseries Review

Avrodh: The Siege Within Webseries Review

Webseries Name: Avrodh: The Siege Within

Director: Raj Acharya

Producer: Sameer Nair, Deepak Segal, Falguni Patel, Samar Khan

Cast: Amit Sadh , Neeraj Kabi, Darshan Kumaar, Vikram Gokhale, Madhurima Tuli

Major Bikramjeet Kanwarpal, Praveena Deshpande, Anant Mahadevan, Anil George, Arif Zakaria

Avrodh: The Siege Within Webseries Review:

The story of Avrodh webseries is about the 2016 Uri surgical strike. We have already watched a movie named Uri: The Surgical Strike on this story. The lead role in that movie was played by the brilliant Vicky Kaushal. Here we will revisit the detailed story of that surgical strike in Avrodh.

This was certainly one of the historic and most memorable triumphs India had over the rival country. The main story was based on one of the chapters from Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh’s book “India’s Most Fearless”. Patriotism related movies and series give us Goosebumps and those suspense moments kept us hooked to our seats.

Darshan Kumaar as Major Goutam has delivered a notable performance in the earlier episodes of the series. Just when we were feeling that the story needs someone to make it a gripping one then Major Videep Singh played by Amit Sadh appeared.

It was a little bit late though almost after 4th episode. But his screen presence was so good that once he enters the story started to look a bit more alive. He is certainly geared up after his previous appearance in Breathe 2 which received lots of praises.

After the online meeting with PM of India played by Vikram Gokhale, Major Videep Singh was given the green signal to go ahead with the mission of surgical strike. He has fixed some names to prepare a strong team who can make the mission successful.

We have seen Neeraj Kabi delivering some top class performances in his previous roles especially in “Patal Lok” & “Sacred Games” webseries. Avrodh gets a boost from his impactful acting. His role of a National Security Advisor makes the story look so intriguing.

Madhurima Tuli was quite impressive as the fearless Journalist Namrata Joshi who is always in hunt for the truth. She came so close to get the information about the surgical strike from her reliable source. Started her journey as a Journalist and at the climax we saw her publishing her own book “India Strikes 10 Days”.

Praveena Deshpande, Vikram Gokhale, Anant Mahadevan, & Major Bikramjeet Kanwarpal have made their presence felt with the few scenes they had in the story. Arif Zakaria did a good job as an officer from National Investigating Agency. He was impressive from the very first scene where he enters the Army Base Camp in Uri to investigate how the rivals attacked at the camp.

Anil George as Abu Hafiz was tried well in the lead negative role. He was speaking in Kashmiri language which makes sometimes difficult to understand the meaning.

Avrodh was certainly not a high on spirit type webseries but it was successful on giving us a clear picture of how they made the surgical strike mission successful. This is where the Director Raj Acharya shows his brilliance. You will rarely find any emotional connection here like “URI: The Surgical Strike” movie. But overall Avrodh is a worth watching.

Avrodh webseries is streaming on Sony LIV.

Lootcase Movie Review

Lootcase Movie Review

Movie Name: Lootcase
Director: Rajesh Krishnan
Producer: Fox Star Studios
Screenplay: Rajesh Krishnan, Kapil Sawant
Music: Amar Mangrulkar & Rohan-Vinayak
Cast: Kunal Kemmu, Rasika Dugal, Gajraj Rao, Ranvir Shorey, Vijay Raaz, Aakash Dabhade, Aryan Prajapati

Lootcase Movie Review: The story of Lootcase Movie revolves around a printing press staff Nandan Kumar played by Kunal Kemmu. He has a daily life surrounding his wife Lata played by Rasika Dugal, son and office colleagues. His wife keeps complaining about missing of daily needed goods and some wishes for a better lifestyle. Whereas his son’s demands never stops, but every time he promises his father to make that one as his last demand.

Everything was going normal until one day while returning from office he found a suitcase. He opened it and saw the suitcase full of money. It is quite common for any middle class guy to believe if it was real what he has just got. He was rarely interested to give it away to anyone still he asked very slowly if anyone had forgotten that suitcase. He checked the area carefully whether anyone was there to notice him run away with the suitcase.

Initially he was clueless about how to spend that money then slowly he started to spend for his family’s unfulfilled wishes. The suitcase actually belongs to the local MLA Patil played by Gajaraj Rao who had appointed two goons for transporting the money. When they left as per his order, on the way their rival gang attacked them, at the same time police appeared and they had to run hiding the suitcase nearby.
The rival gang’s leader was Bala played by Vijay Raaz who was an obsessed person with National Geography and also used to order his fellows to subscribe to the channel. Gajaraj Rao secretly appointed a cop Koltey played by Ranvir Shorey to find out the suitcase. The climax was about complete madness with too many gun firing.

Kunal Kemmu who is known for his well-timed comedy in movies like Dhol, Golmaal 3 has made his character Nandan looks real as a middleclass man. His inability to hide that huge amount of cash and then how to spend it will make you laugh loudly. His wife Rasika Dugal has also played her character beautifully. The characters of Gajaraj Rao, Ranvir Shorey, & Vijay Raaz got sufficient focus that was needed.

Lootcase movie was a full-on entertainer. Director Rajesh Krishnan has made his debut quite worthy. He was successful in providing us some laugh and fun during this pandemic. Don’t miss this opportunity to loot some laugh from the movie Lootcase. The movie is streaming on Disney+Hotstar.

Raat Akeli Hai Movie Review

Movie Name: Raat Akeli Hai
Director: Honey Trehan
Producer: Ronnie Screwvala
Story, Screenplay & Dialogues: Smita Singh
DOP: Pankaj Kumar
Music: Sneha Khanwalkar
Cast: Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Radhika Apte, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Aditya Srivastava, Nishant Dahiya, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Ila Arun, Swanand Kirkire, Khalid Tyabji

Raat Akeli Hai Movie Review: Raat Akeli Hai movie certainly the best crime thriller released on OTT platform till date. Nawazuddin Siddiqui has put another brilliant performance here. His character of sub-inspector Jatil Yadav was simply the show stealer. His name was actually Jatin but while doing the form fill up for board exam one mistake has changed it from Jatin to Jatil. He gets rejection from many girls due to his dark complexion. He uses fairness cream daily hiding it from her mother. He used to get involved into fight with his mother played by Ila Arun regarding his marriage.

The film started with two brutal murders thereafter Raghubeer Singh played by Khalid Tyabji was killed on the day of his second marriage with Radha played by Radhika Apte. Raghubeer Singh’s family was not a united one and they rarely trust each other.
With the progress of investigation Jatil Yadav came to know that Radha had an affair with Vikram played by Nishant Dahiya who is Raghubeer’s nephew. Other family members of Raghubeer Singh includes Raghubeer’s son Ravi played by Nitesh Tiwari; his pregnant daughter played by Shweta Tripathi and her husband played by Gyanendra Tripathi; Raghubeer’s brother-in-law played by Swanand Kirkire; niece played by Shivani Raghuvanshi.

Raghubeer Singhs’ family friend MLA Munna Raja played by Aditya Srivastava was not happy with Jatil Yadav’s investigation as he was getting close to find the killers. MLA Munna Raja informed this to Jatil Yadav through Jatil’s boss Lalji Shukla played by Tigmanshu Dhulia. After few interactions with maid Jatil was sure that the maid knew some secrets but later she was also killed. Rest of the story went through how Jatil successfully found the real killer of Raghubeer Singh.

Talking about the performances it was a top-notch performance from Nawazuddin Siddiqui, his role of a sincere and responsible cop will keep you in hunt for the truth. Radhika Apte has also done a very good job here. Overall we can say it was a complete team effort from every department that has resulted in such a masterpiece.

Director Honey Trehan has tried to keep enough focus on every crucial character which led the story unfolded slowly and nicely. He was very much successful in keeping the suspense alive and this was a brilliant and almost perfect storytelling.

If you are searching for a good crime thriller to watch out during this lockdown then definitely go for “Raat Akeli Hai”. The movie is currently streaming on Netflix.

Yaara Movie Review

Yaara Movie Review

Movie Name: Yaara
Screenplay, Dialogues & Direction: Tigmanshu Dhulia
Producer: Sujay Shankarwar, Gaurav Bose, Gagan J.S. Bindra, Sunir Kheterpal, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Kuldeep Singh Rathore
Music: Ankit Tiwari, Siddharth Pandit, Gourov, Roshin & Shaan
DOP: Rishi Punjabi
Cast: Vidyut Jammwal, Amit Sadh, Kenny Basumatary, Vijay Varma, Shruti Haasan

Yaara Movie Review: The story of Yaara movie is based on four men’s friendship and how their life changes with time. The four characters were Phagun played by Vidyut Jammwal, Mitwa played by Amit Sadh, Rizwan played by Vijay Varma, and Bahadur played by Kenny Basumatary.  This film is a remake of the French film “A Gang Story”.

The main story took a started when making an attempt to take the revenge of Phagun’s father’s death; Phagun & Mitwa had to run away and join a gang named “Chaukdi Gang”. The gang runs illegal businesses like smuggling and arms trafficking.

After growing up they started to supply arms to naxals and during this time Phagun fell for Sukanya played by Shruti Haasan. While staying in a naxal-liberated village they all were caught and sentenced to jail for some years except Sukanya. Rest of the story revolves around after coming back from jail how they got united and their dark past affected their lives.

You might miss the magic here that Tigmanshu Dhulia has created in his earlier films. The storytelling was completely different here as he tried to add a bit of love story between Vidyut and Shruti but that didn’t go well except that “Har Dafaa” soundtrack sung by Shaan and Shruti Rane. Tigmanshu Dhulia who has delivered some hit movies like “Paan Singh Tomar”, “Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster”, Yaara doesn’t go anywhere near to those kinds of scripts or storytelling.

Amit Sadh tried quite well to a different kind of role but due to the weak script his character didn’t get much focus. Vidyut was very good on only those few action scenes. Other two characters Kenny Basumatary, Vijay Varma had tried their bit and impressed the audiences in few scenes. Shruti Haasan had very less to play except few dialogues and one emotional scene and she doesn’t leave any impression either.

The script was quite weak and also there were scopes of betterment for few characters which could have added a little more strength to the plot. The director had tried for a twist in the climax which rarely makes any impression.

Finally you can watch Yaara movie if you are missing old friends and relive those spent moments with them. These four friend’s friendship moments in Yaara movie will refresh your own friendship memories. The movie is streaming on ZEE5.
