Ashram Web Series Story & Performances

Today we will discuss the Aashram Web series Review. Director Prakash Jha has finally made his debut on the OTT platform through the Aashram web series. The story begins with a scene where we saw a young girl beating the warden of a hostel.

In the very next scene, we saw two girls, one belonging to high society and the other from a Dalit family, fighting in a wrestling match. Pammi (played by Aaditi Pohankar) actually won the match but being from a Dalit family, the referee called for a foul and gave the trophy to Sangeeta.

A groom from a Dalit family wished for riding horse-like high society people to reach the bride’s home. While crossing the high society area Pammi’s brother Satti (played by Tushar Pandey) and others were badly beaten. They went to the local police station to file a complaint against those high society people but SI Ujagar Singh (Darshan Kumaar) tried to warn them the coming danger may arrive because of the attempt to murder complaint.

The high society people forced to doctor not to treat Satti, on Baba Nirala Kashipur Wala (played by Bobby Deol) arrived and sorted out the incident. Babaji’s right-hand Bhopa (played by Chandan Roy Sanyal) executes every plan and looks after almost every major activity of the Ashram.

At first Pammi then her brother decided to be a devotee of Babaji. Satti was given the task to marry a prostitute Bobita (played by Tridha Choudhury); initially, he declines to but later agreed. Slowly Satti was getting into the trap of Babaji which he was unaware of.

During the construction works of Mishra Global Projects Private Limited Company, a skeleton was found and sent for investigation. Post-mortem specialist doctor Natasha (played by Anupriya Goenka) informed that it was the skeleton of a girl and she was brutally murdered. Natasha’s beauty and honesty attracted Ujagar Singh and he decided to find out the culprits of that unidentified girl.

To get young devotees for some political benefits Babaji approaches modern pop singer Teenka Singh (played by Adhyayan Suman) to agree with Babaji’s given proposal but he rejected it. Later he was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau for using drugs which was a conspiracy by Babaji to bring Teenka Singh into his shelter.

Director Prakash Jha was at his usual best. His movies like Gangajal, Rajneeti, and Apaharan were some of the best of his career. His digital debut was equally effective and hopefully, he will keep delivering us such wonderful content in the future also.

Bobby Deol’s presence has made a big difference in the Ashram web series season 1. Here he has portrayed the character of a Godman beautifully. He has already impressed us with his performance in the latest released movie “Class Of 83”.

Aaditi Pohankar has already delivered a powerful performance in the “She” web series. In the “Aashram” web series her role as a Dalit girl who is also a wrestler offered good support to make the star cast stronger.

Chandan Roy Sanyal has also provided a noteworthy performance here. After his good performance in Avrodh, Darshan Kumaar and also his colleague Vikram Kochchar did a very good job here with their respective roles.

Anupriya Goenka, Tridha Choudhury, Tushar Pandey, and Adhyayan Suman also justified their roles so well with some spectacular performances.

The Ashram Web series is streaming on MX player.
