List of Best Bengali Movies of 2023

With just a few days left before the start of 2024, let's take a look at some of the best Bengali movies of 2023. I have included 2 Bangladeshi films in it too which I thought deserve to be on this list.


Dawshom Awbotaar:

   The inclusion of Srijit Mukherji's film in this list is primarily attributed to the enchanting chemistry between the Probir-Poddar duo, skillfully portrayed by Prosenjit Chatterjee and Anirban Bhattacharya.


Raktabeej:

   Noteworthy for its exceptional storytelling by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, "Raktabeej" shines with solid performances from Abir Chatterjee, Mimi Chakraborty, and Victor Banerjee.


Bagha Jatin:

   Dev's compelling performance, coupled with outstanding music composition and Arun Roy's adept direction, takes center stage in this period drama.


Pradhan:

   Audiences are responding positively to Dev's stellar performance and Avijit Sen's brilliant storytelling in this compelling social action drama film.


Kabuliwala:

   Mithun Chakraborty's captivating performance and Suman Ghosh's masterful storytelling form the backbone of this emotional rollercoaster.


Chengiz:

   Jeet delivers a solid performance in this Rajesh Ganguly directorial gangster drama, complemented by a striking background score and impeccable execution.


Ardhangini:

   Outstanding performances by Churni Ganguly, Jaya Ahsan, and Kaushik Sen, combined with Kaushik Ganguly’s excellent storytelling, make this family drama a must-watch.


Jongole Mitin Mashi:

   Koel Mallick's brilliant performance and the film's message of wildlife preservation are standout features in this Arindam Sil directorial.


Shibpur:

   Swastika Mukherjee and Parambrata Chatterjee deliver top-notch performances in this gangster drama, supported by commendable acts from Kharaj Mukherjee, Rajatava Dutta, and Mamata Shankar. Director Arindam Bhattacharya's storytelling adds depth to the narrative.


Surongo:

    Afran Nisho's stunning performance and Raihan Rafi's excellent storytelling are pivotal in this gripping crime thriller.


Priyotoma:

    Shakib Khan's outstanding performance, coupled with a commendable act from Idhika Paul and a gripping climax, positions this Himel Ashraf directorial among the best movies of 2023.


Shohorer Ushnotomo Din E:

    Vikram Chatterjee and Solanki Roy deliver brilliant performances with top-notch on-screen chemistry, supported by Aritra Sen’s praiseworthy storytelling in this romantic drama film.
