The much-anticipated trailer for Anirban Chakrabarti's upcoming web series, Dugdugi, was released on 16th July 2023. The trailer provides a glimpse into the story, where Anirban Chakrabarti portrays the character of Abanish, a middle-class man facing numerous challenges in life.
Abanish's struggles begin when his boss publicly humiliates him at the office, labeling him as an inefficient staff member. On a bus, he encounters an incident where he is confronted and physically attacked by a woman due to his ill-mannered behavior. Amidst all the difficulties, Abanish finds solace and support from his friend and colleague, Kanai (Biswanath Basu), who encourages him to stay strong.
However, Abanish's life takes a drastic turn for the worse when his wife, Kumkum, goes missing. Following Kanai Da's advice, he informs the police and files a missing person complaint. Additionally, Abanish is entangled in an extramarital affair, where his girlfriend presents him with an ultimatum to choose between her and his wife. As the story unfolds, questions arise about the mystery behind Kumkum's disappearance. Will Abanish succeed in finding Kumkum and bringing her back into his life?
Anirban Chakrabarti looks convincing as a middle-class man in this series directed by Joydeep Mukherjee. The actor has previously wowed audiences with his exceptional portrayals as Eken Babu and the successful installment, The Eken: Ruddhaswas Rajasthan. Furthermore, he will grace the screen alongside Madhumita Sarcar and Aparajita Adhya in the film Cheeni 2.
Loknath Dey portrays the role of the investigating officer while Biswanath Basu will be seen as Abanish's most trusted friend. Raiti Bhattacharya and Shreya Bhattacharya also feature in crucial roles. The Dugdugi web series is an adaptation of a novel by Ullas Mallick, the screenplay and dialogues are written by Padmanabha Dasgupta.
