Eken Babu Season 4 Review: Story and Performances

Eken Babu Season 4 was released on 2nd October 2020 on Hoichoi. The 4th season comprises 6 episodes and has been named 'Burman Barir Rahasya'.

Ekendra Sen is popularly known as Eken Babu (played by Anirban Chakrabarti). His cousin sister Rinita (played by Anuradha Mukherjee) went for a short vacation to her friend Vishakha’s (played by Sohini Banerjee) home “Burman House”. It has some historical connection with Siraj-ud-Daulah.

Rinita informed Eken Babu and also told him about the kind of food she is getting every day. Eken Babu could not stop himself from visiting that historical place as well as tasting those foods.

The very next day the maid saw Vishakha’s father Tunganath Burman lying on the floor unconsciously. He found Eken Babu there and informed him about this. He went and helped him with some water. He asked about the incident Tunganath Burman informed him and the family about what happened.

He said that someone entered his room and tried to beat him. He informed his wife about suspecting his own son Riddhi (played by Debopriyo Mukherjee) of that incident.

Satyakam (played by Kinjal Kumar Nanda) was staying at Tunganath Burman’s home to write about Burman House’s history. Riddhi was not happy with Satyakam’s unspecified days staying at their house.

He insulted Satyakam many times. As the situation was moving towards worse, Tunganath finally informed everyone that Satyakam is his son. He was in a relationship with Satyakam’s mother but could not marry her for belonging to another caste.

Then sudden mysterious death of Satyakam left Eken Babu stuck at Tunganath’s house. He kept investigating the case to know whether it was suicide or murder. The rest of the story revolves around how he unfolds the truth.

The director duo Joydeep Mukherjee, and Surajit Chatterjee did a great job of keeping the suspense alive till the 6th episode. The plot of the 'Eken Babu' web series was quite simple but intriguing.

The unconventional acting method as a detective makes Anirban Chakrabarti stand out here in the 'Eken Babu' series. Amlaan A. Chakraborty’s music was also quite good.

Anuradha Mukherjee, Debopriyo Mukherjee, Kinjal Kumar Nanda, and Kaushik Chattopadhyay were equally convincing. Overall we can say some great performances have made Eken Babu Season 4 worth watching.
