On March 12, 2024, Hoichoi unveiled the official trailer for their upcoming web series Lojja. Directed by Aditi Roy, the series stars Priyanka Sarkar in the lead role, with Anujoy Chattopadhyay, Srija Halum, Indrasish Roy, Kheyali Dastidar, Namita Chakraborty, Indrajit Mazumder, and Sneha Chatterjee in supporting roles.
The 2-minute trailer provides a glimpse into the story, which revolves around Jaya Sinha (played by Priyanka Sarkar), who seeks a divorce from her husband due to enduring daily verbal abuse. The series aims to shed light on how many women in society tolerate such abuse from their loved ones, while Jaya Sinha decides to take a stand against it. Priyanka Sarkar's performance and Subhadeep Guha's background score are highlighted as major strengths of the trailer.
Lojja marks the first collaboration between director Aditi Roy and actress Priyanka Sarkar and is set to be released on Hoichoi on March 22, 2024. Samragnee Bandopadhyay has written the story, screenplay, and dialogues for the series, while Alok Maity handles cinematography and Subhajit Singha is responsible for editing.
Aditi Roy is best known for her adeptness in directing women-centric content, having previously delivered successful projects like Bodhon, Bodhon 2, and Noshtoneer, with plans to direct Noshtoneer 2 as well. Priyanka Sarkar recently featured in Ahalya and is slated to appear in the upcoming thriller Robin’s Kitchen.
