Ahalya (2024) Bengali Movie Trailer Review:

On February 11, 2024, the production house Artage Media unveiled the official trailer of their upcoming horror thriller, Ahalya. Directed by Abhimanyu Mukherjee, the film stars Bonny Sengupta, Priyanka Sarkar, and Payel Sarkar in lead roles, with Biswanath Basu, Prabir Dutta, and Shyamal Dutta in supporting roles.

The 2-minute, 13-second trailer opens with a little girl named Rini arriving at the house of her neighbor, Indra (played by Bonny Sengupta), who lives next door to her family's flat. She seeks refuge there as her parents, Malini (Payel Sarkar) and Shashanka (Biswanath Basu), engage in their usual daily arguments.

Malini accuses her husband Shashanka of subjecting her to regular abuse. In another scene, Jinia Banerjee (Priyanka Sarkar) and Indra are depicted sharing romantic moments. However, Indra soon discovers that the family he is interacting with no longer exists. Additionally, Jinia confesses to having just committed a murder. The trailer raises questions: Who did Jinia kill? Will Indra uncover the truth about the missing family?

The trailer's editing maintains an air of mystery, while the background score enhances the suspense. The three lead actors, Bonny Sengupta, Priyanka Sarkar, and Payel Sarkar, deliver compelling performances in the trailer.

Arnab Bhowmik has written the story, screenplay, and dialogue, while Rabiranjan Moitra has edited the film. Anindya Chattopadhyay and Amlan Chakraborty handled the music composition, and Anujit Kundu managed the cinematography. "Ahalya" is jointly produced by APP Production and Artage Media. Piya Sengupta makes a cameo appearance, while Prabir Dutta, Shyamal Dutta, Amrito, Aliva Bhattacharya, and Ritasmita Sinha play crucial roles.

Abhimanyu Mukherjee's directorial Kolonko premiered on Hoichoi this year. Bonny Sengupta's another film, Ayu Rekha, is set for release in March. Priyanka Sarkar was last seen in Kurban and is also featured in upcoming films like "Dhappa" and "Radio."
