On 30th November 2021, Director Srijit Mukherji confirmed the release date of the much-awaited movie Kakababur Protyaborton through his social media handle.

Kakababur Protyaborton is the eighth collaboration between director Srijit Mukherji and actor Prosenjit Chatterjee. They have previously collaborated in Autograph, Baishe Srabon, Mishawr Rawhoshyo, Jaatishwar, Zulfiqar, Yeti Obhijaan, & Gumnaami.

Prosenjit Chatterjee will portray the character of Kakababu which is the adaptation of Sunil Gangopadhyay's Kakababu character. Earlier he delivered top-notch performances while portraying the character of Kakababu in Mishawr Rawhoshyo and Yeti Obhijaan. He is currently busy shooting for Kacher Manush and Aay Khuku Aay.

Aryann Bhowmik will portray the character of Santu. He was last seen in director Mainak Bhaumik’s web series Break Up Story. He will be also seen in director Amit Sharma’s movie Maidaan starring Ajay Devgn & Priyamani. Kakababu and Santu will go to Nairobi, Kenya this time for new adventures.

After receiving mostly positive reviews for Feluda Pherot Season 1 last year, Srijit Mukherji directed Ray Season 1 & Rabindranath Ekhane Kokhono Khete Asenni continued to win the hearts of audiences as well as critics this year. So, the expectations of audiences are quite high for his upcoming projects.

Kakababur Protyaborton, the Bengali adventure drama movie is produced by Shree Venkatesh Films while the music will be composed by Indraadip Dasgupta. Anirban Chakrabarti and Alonso Grandio will also play crucial roles in the movie.
