On January 19, 2024, Surinder Films unveiled the trailer for their upcoming horror thriller, Bhootpori. Directed by Soukarya Ghosal, the film features Jaya Ahsan and Ritwick Chakraborty in lead roles, with supporting performances by Sudipta Chakraborty, Shaantilal Mukherjee, and Bishantak Mukherjee. The horror thriller Bhootpori is set to hit theaters on February 9, 2024.
The 2-minute trailer showcases Jaya Ahsan as Banalata, a ghost adorned in a red saree and jewelry. Ritwick Chakraborty, portraying Makhon, narrates to a young boy that Banalata can see everyone but cannot touch or harm anyone unless someone dreams of her. A surprising twist occurs when Banalata, after touching the little boy, becomes afraid. This leaves the boy astonished, witnessing a ghost frightened by a human. The trailer raises questions about Banalata's fate and the circumstances surrounding her death.
Director Soukarya Ghosal has penned the story and screenplay, with Nabarun Bose handling the music composition. Arghyakamal Mitra serves as the film's editor, and Aalok Maiti is the cinematographer.
The trailer holds promise, and Dipayan Roy's editing effectively maintains suspense. The background score adds to the overall atmosphere, contributing to the film's appeal.
