On November 20, 2023, ZEE5 unveiled the trailer for their upcoming mystery thriller, Kadak Singh. Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, renowned for Pink, the film stars Pankaj Tripathi in the titular role.
Produced by Andre Timmins, Viraf Sarkari, Sabbas Joseph, Mahesh Ramanathan, and KVN, with co-production by Shyam Sunder and Indrani Mukherjee, the mystery thriller is set to premiere on December 8th this year.
The 2-minute and 50-second trailer centers on AK Shrivastav aka Kadak Singh, who, following an accident, suffers from retrograde amnesia. While in the hospital, various individuals recount different versions of his story and the events surrounding him. As he seeks the truth, his identity, and an understanding of what transpired, the trailer raises the question of whether he will uncover the answers.
Sanjana Sanghi, known for her lead role debut in Dil Bechara and her appearance in Rashtra Kavach Om, will portray the character of Pankaj Tripathi's daughter, Sakshi Shrivastava, in the film.
Parvathy Thiruvothu, a National Film Award winner for her role in "Take Off" (2017), will play the character of the Head Nurse in Kadak Singh. Paresh Pahuja as Arjun and Varun Buddhadev as Aditya will also play significant roles, and Jaya Ahsan, featured in Srijit Mukherji’s Dawshom Awbotaar, will be seen as Naina.
Pankaj Tripathi, a two-time National Award winner (for Mimi and Newton), is celebrated for his acting prowess. His versatility has shone through in various projects like Mirzapur, Mimi, Newton, Criminal Justice: Adhura Sach, Stree, Ludo, Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors, and Sacred Games.
This film marks the first collaboration between director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and actor Pankaj Tripathi.
