On December 29, 2023, the popular Bengali OTT platform Addatimes unveiled the trailer for Doctor Bakshi. Directed by Saptaswa Basu, the film features Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Subhashree Ganguly, and Bonny Sengupta in the lead roles.
The 1-minute and 25-second trailer opens with a scene from "Pratidwandi," starring Saswata Chatterjee and Rudranil Ghosh. The character Dr. Bakshi is derived from director Saptaswa Basu’s gripping revenge thriller "Pratidwandi," released in 2021, with Saswata Chatterjee portraying the character. This time, Parambrata Chattopadhyay takes on the titular role in Doctor Bakshi.
The story revolves around the writer Mrinalini Sen (Subhashree Ganguly), trapped in a murder mystery where failing to follow the killer’s instructions may harm her. The suspense unfolds as Mrinalini Sen strives to save herself from the impending dangers in her life.
Bonny Sengupta as Aditya and Devtanu as John play crucial roles in the film. The story is penned by Saptaswa Basu, and co-written by Arnab Bhaumik and Subhasish Guha.
Subhashree Ganguly delivered a stunning performance in Debaloy Bhattacharya’s Indubala Bhaater Hotel. Parambrata Chattopadhyay will be featured in upcoming films, including Srijit Mukherji's Tekka and Lawho Gouranger Naam Re.
