Podokkhep (2006) Bengali Movie: Suman Ghosh's Directorial Debut

Director Suman Ghosh's film Podokkhep, which has won two national awards, is now available on the OTT platform Hoichoi. The film features Soumitra Chatterjee, Nandita Das, and Sabitri Chatterjee in the leading roles, with supporting performances by Tota Roy Choudhury, June Malia, Sweta Dutta, Bibhas Chakraborty, Jagannath Guha, and Ashok Sharma.

This film marks Suman Ghosh's directorial debut, and it centers around a retired bank manager (Soumitra Chatterjee) and his relationship with his daughter (Nandita Das), who is struggling to balance her personal and professional life. Things take an interesting turn when an NRI couple (Tota Roy Choudhury & June Malia) with a 5-year-old daughter becomes his neighbor, and a surprising bond develops between him and the little girl.
