The production house Hoichoi Studios, unveiled the teaser for their inaugural film, Shri Swapan Kumarer Badami Hyenar Kobole today. Directed by Debaloy Bhattacharya, the movie is set to hit theaters soon.
The film stars Paran Bandopadhyay in the role of writer Swapan Kumar and Abir Chatterjee as Detective Deepak Chatterjee. Shri Swapan Kumarer Badami Hyenar Kobole is a pulp fiction thriller that weaves the tale of a lost detective, a forgotten writer, a menacing antagonist, and an enigmatic world.
The esteemed writer Samarendranath Pandey, known by the pen name Swapan Kumar, is the creative genius behind Detective Deepak Chatterjee.
The teaser, clocking in at 2 minutes, commences with a dialogue between two individuals. One inquires, "Sir, have you read the stories of Deepak Chatterjee penned by Swapan Kumar? The other promptly responds, "Of course, I have." The first person continues, "It sends shivers down my spine when I think about it."
Paran Bandopadhyay addresses Abir Chatterjee, saying, "Swapan Kumar's latest thriller and Deepak Chatterjee's new adventure - I'm the first Bengali pulp fiction writer, and you are the hero." Abir Chatterjee is seen visualizing himself and remarks, "Dipak Chatterjee leaping from the parapet with two guns in hand and a flashlight in the other – what prompted you to write that? You've made me a laughing stock."
Saoli Chattopadhyay, who featured in the Nikhoj and Rahasya Romancha series, shares a scene in the teaser where she converses with Abir Chatterjee, expressing, "I still watch Bengali Cinema." In response, Abir Chatterjee retorts, "But don't expect me to display solidarity; I can't."
Shruti Das, acclaimed for her exceptional performance in Srijit Mukherji's X=Prem, assumes the role of the female lead and makes a captivating appearance at the teaser's conclusion. Pratik Dutta and Goutam Halder will play pivotal roles in this film.
Cinematography for the film will be expertly handled by Ramyadip Saha, while Sanglap Bhowmick will oversee the editing process. Amit Chatterjee will be responsible for the music composition and background score.
Debaloy Bhattacharya, a familiar name in the realm of OTT content, returns after more than five years to direct a feature film. He has previously delivered masterpieces such as Indubala Bhater Hotel, Montu Pilot, and Charitraheen.
Shri Swapan Kumarer Badami Hyenar Kobole marks Debaloy Bhattacharya's fourth directorial feature film and his third theatrical release following Roga Howar Sohoj Upay and Biday Byomkesh. Dracula Sir was directly premiered on the Hoichoi OTT platform.
