Director Sayantan Ghosal’s upcoming adventure comedy film Tenida and Company arrives in theatres on 19th May 2023. The trailer of this film has been finally released yesterday and it does not reveal much about the plot.
The story of this film is based on Narayan Gangopadhyay’s Jhau Bungalowr Rahasya. Bhajahari Mukhujjee aka Tenida aka Teni is a popular character in Bengali author Narayan Gangopadhyay’s short stories.
Kanchan Mullick will portray the character of Tenida for the first time. Previously we have seen actors like Chinmoy Roy and Subhasish Mukhopadhyay portraying this famous character. Gaurav Chakrabarty as Kyabla, Soumendra Bhattacharya as Pyala, and Sourav Saha as Habul are the other three members of Tenida’s group.
They planned to visit Nilpahari in Darjeeling where they will stay at Jhau Bungalow which is considered haunted. A Scientist named Satkari Santra (Sabyasachi Chakrabarty) requested Tenida & his team to save his formula and he also informs them about the accidental death of his only daughter Annesha (Ridhima Ghosh).
This adventure comedy film is produced by Surinder Singh and Nispal Singh under the banner Surinder Films. Dialogues and Screenplay were written by Sougata Basu, Ramyadip Saha did the cinematography, and Subhajit Singha has done the editing part.
Mithu Chakraborty, & Paran Bandopadhyay will be seen playing crucial roles in this film. Earlier audiences loved Chinmoy Roy and Subhasish Mukhopadhyay in Tenida’s character so it will be interesting to see whether Kanchan Mullick can fulfill the audience’s expectations of this character. Kanchan Mullick delivered a top-notch performance in the Dakghor web series on Hoichoi.
The sound design, editing, and background score are okay in this trailer which hints at a horror comedy and it is a fact that executing a good horror comedy that the audience likes is not an easier task. Earlier Anirban Bhattacharya did it brilliantly in the horror comedy film Ballavpurer Roopkotha.
If we see the way director Sayantal Ghosal is experimenting with different genres and getting appreciation from audiences for his earlier projects like LSD (Lal Suitcase ta Dekhechen?), Roktokorobi, Sampurna season 1, Indu season 1, Mouchaak, & Lalbazaar, it won’t be surprising if he executes this one also beautifully.
