Abhay 3 Web Series Review: Story & Performance & Analysis

The third season of the popular web series Abhay continues the story of Abhay Pratap Singh (Kunal Kemmu) as he struggles to balance his personal and professional life. Abhay is haunted by his past and is concerned about his son Saahil (Pratyaksh Panwar), whom he couldn't spend much time with due to his duty responsibilities.

Junior police officer Khusboo (Nidhi Singh) secretly investigates Natasha’s (Elnaaz Norouzi) death and suspects that Abhay is responsible for it as well as Sonam’s (Asha Negi) disappearance. Abhay had kept Sonam hidden in a secret place as she was responsible for kidnapping kids earlier.

Kabir (Tanuj Virwani) and Harleen (Divya Agarwal), a social media influencer couple, are involved in multiple sadistic murders.

Dr. Anant Sinha (Vijay Raaz) aka Mrityu (Death), with a semi-paranormal ideology, kills people in the name of liberation. He traps Nidhi (Divya Agarwal) and later Abhay’s son Saahil, but due to the efforts of Abhay and his team, they were able to save only Saahil.

Avatar (Rahul Dev), a sharpshooter, stays inside a forest, killing selected people at will. Abhay and his team went after him and stopped him from succeeding in one mission, which forced Avatar to commit suicide.

Kunal Kemmu's performance has improved significantly, and his portrayal of Abhay continues to impress the audience. Nidhi Singh also had a better screen presence in season 3 compared to the previous two seasons, and she was convincing in her role. Vijay Raaz delivered an exceptional performance as Dr. Anant Sinha. Divya Agarwal has also done justice to her role. However, the characters played by Asha Negi, Tanuj Virwani, and Rahul Dev were poorly written.

The action sequence between Asha Negi and Nidhi Singh was a highlight of the season. However, in some cases, such as Kabir and Harleen's story, Abhay had significantly less to do, which affected the overall interest in the show.

Ken Ghosh's direction deserves appreciation, and after a controversial season 2, Abhay season 3 is worth watching for its new elements and storyline.
