Gaiya (2024) Romantic Drama Review:
Giasuddin Selim's directorial romantic drama Gaiya, starring Khairul Basar and Prarthana Fardin Dighi, premiered on Bongo on February 14th, 2024.
The romantic drama unfolds as Rumki (Prarthana Fardin Dighi) finds herself stranded with her car in the middle of a cultivated field in a village. Mamun (Khairul Basar) and his friends come to her rescue, assisting her in moving the car.
Mamun, being a close relative of Rumki’s father (Shahrukh Fardin Subrata), stays at Rumki’s house for three months while pursuing chef training. The story delves into how Mamun and Rumki develop feelings for each other during this time and the outcome of their love as the tale progresses.
Khairul Basar delivers an impressive performance as the simple and honest village guy Mamun, while Prarthana Fardin Dighi convincingly portrays Rumki in Gaiya. Shahrukh Fardin Subrata as Rumki’s father and Jonayed Bukdadi as Sohag also make valuable contributions to the film.
The screenplay, dialogues, and direction by Giasuddin Selim are praiseworthy, while cinematographer Barkat Hossain Polash's work is commendable.
