Suriya 43 Tamil Movie: Vijay Varma's Tamil Debut
On October 26, 2023, 2D Entertainment released an announcement teaser for Suriya's forthcoming film, tentatively titled Suriya 43. This marks the eighth directorial venture for Sudha Kongara. Notably, this is the second collaboration between Suriya and the writer-director, following the immensely successful Soorarai Pottru, which earned both of them National Awards.
Intriguingly, the 44-second announcement teaser reveals Suriya's half-face image, featuring only his eyes, as well as the leading stars of the film. It hints that the film's title comprises three phrases, with one phrase already unveiled, referencing Purananooru. The other two phrases remain shrouded in mystery.
The musical composition for the film will be helmed by GV Prakash Kumar, who previously won a National Award for his exceptional background score work in Soorarai Pottru. Interestingly, this film marks his 100th as a music composer.
Suriya 43 features a stellar cast, with Dulquer Salmaan and Vijay Varma playing pivotal roles alongside Suriya in the lead. Vijay Varma is slated to portray the film's primary antagonist.
Notably, Suriya celebrated his 26th year in the film industry on September 6, commemorating the release of his debut film "Nerrukku Ner," directed by Vasanth. In the current year, no Suriya films have been released. His last appearance was in a cameo role in director Lokesh Kanagaraj's Vikram in 2022, where he played a character known as Rolex. Additionally, he is set to make cameo appearances in the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru, featuring Akshay Kumar and Shiddat fame Radhika Madan, as well as in films like Kanguva and Vaadivaasal.
In a noteworthy development, Nazriya Fahadh, best known for her role in the black comedy thriller Neram, will play a significant part in Suriya 43. This film also marks the reunion of Dulquer Salmaan and Nazriya Fahadh after more than nine years, since their last collaboration in Bangalore Days, directed by Anjali Menon, which hit screens in 2014. In the current year, Dulquer Salmaan's sole film release has been King of Kotha.
Suriya 43 also signifies Vijay Varma's debut in the Tamil film industry. In the same year, he appeared in Lust Stories 2 and Jaane Jaan, both of which premiered on Netflix, as well as KaalKoot on Jio Cinema. Moreover, the actor, known for his role in Mirzapur," is set to feature in upcoming films like Murder Mubarak and Afghaani Snow.
