Actress Subhasree Ganguly, who was initially cast as the female lead in Srijit Mukherji's upcoming cop universe film Dawshom Awbotaar, has been replaced by Jaya Ahsan. The movie is set to release in theaters during Durga Puja this year, alongside Dev's Bagha Jatin and Abir Chatterjee-Mimi Chakraborty starrer Raktabeej.

On June 27, 2023, Subhashree Ganguly announced her second pregnancy through a tweet, saying, "Yuvaan is promoted to 'Big Brother'." Since her debut in Aborto, Jaya Ahsan has delivered outstanding performances and earned numerous awards. Apart from several National Film awards, she has won Filmfare awards for Bishorjon, Robibar, Bijoya, and Binisutoy. Jaya Ahsan is also set to appear in upcoming films such as Bhootpori, OCD, Kalantar, Putul Nacher Itikatha, and Kadak Singh.

Dawshom Awbotaar marks the third collaboration between Jaya Ahsan and Srijit Mukherji, following Rajkahini and Ek Je Chhilo Raja. In the film, she will portray the character of Maitree. The shooting for this movie, starring Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jisshu U Sengupta, and Anirban Bhattacharya, will commence this month.

On 19th June 2023, Srijit Mukherji announced via his social media handle that the shooting for his upcoming web series Durgo Rawhoshyo, featuring Anirban Bhattacharya, Rahul Banerjee, and Sohini Sarkar, has been completed. On July 6, he confirmed his next collaboration with Dev, co-starring Rukmini Maitra, scheduled for 2024.
