Raja Shivaji (2025) Movie: Riteish Deshmukh to portray legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in his next directorial venture

On the auspicious occasion of Shivaji Jayanti, Riteish Deshmukh announced his next directorial venture. Following the success of his directorial debut, "Ved," in 2022, Riteish Deshmukh is gearing up for his 2nd directorial film titled Raja Shivaji. The film will be jointly produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Genelia Deshmukh under the banners of Jio Studios and Mumbai Film Company.

The actor-director shared a motion poster featuring him & posted on Instagram, stating, “In the annals of history, there emerges a figure who transcends mere mortal existence—a legend, an icon, an eternal flame of inspiration. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is not a mere historical figure; he is an emotion, a timeless saga of valor, and a beacon of hope that has illuminated hearts for over three and a half centuries."

The film is based on the life of the legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and will be released in theaters in 2025 in Hindi and Marathi languages. Santosh Sivan, a 12-time National Film Award-winning cinematographer, will make his Marathi debut with this film. Ajay Atul will handle the music composition for the film.
