VD18 Movie: Thaman S will compose the music

On the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti and Pongal, Jio Studios unveiled glimpses from their upcoming untitled action entertainer, tentatively titled VD18. Directed by Kalees, the film stars Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead roles. Wamiqa Gabbi is set to make her big-screen debut in a lead role with this film.

The 1-minute 8-second video from the Mahurat showcases the lead actors and producers participating in the Pooja ceremony. According to reports, Sanya Malhotra and Rajpal Yadav will also play crucial roles in the film. Kalees, who made his directorial debut with the tech-thriller Kee in 2019, marks VD18 as his second directorial film and Varun Dhawan’s 18th film, marking the maiden collaboration between them. The makers confirmed releasing the title of this film soon.

Sumit Arora and Kalees have penned the story for this film, while Thaman S will compose the music, and Kiran Koushik will handle the cinematography. Yannick Ben and Sunil Rodrigues are the action directors of VD18, and the film has been jointly produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Murad Khetani, and Priya Atlee under the banners Jio Studios, A for Apple Studios, and Cine1 Studios.

Varun Dhawan was last seen in Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal. Last year, Wamiqa Gabbi appeared in Vikramaditya Motwane’s Jubilee and Vishal Bhardwaj’s Khufiya, and she is set to feature in the upcoming Tamil film Genie.

Keerthy Suresh will make her Bollywood debut with this film. Last year, she appeared in Dasara, Maamannan, and Bhola Shankar. Her upcoming projects include Siren, Raghuthatha, Revolver Rita, and Kannivedi. Sanya Malhotra, who was last seen in Sam Bahadur, Jawan, and Kathal last year, also has an exciting lineup of projects.
