On January 6, 2024, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn shared the official poster of his upcoming film, Raid 2, and the Mahurat Shot was taken by Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja. The film, a sequel to the blockbuster Raid, is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar under the banners of T-Series Films and Panorama Studios.

This film marks the 6th directorial venture of Raj Kumar Gupta and his 2nd collaboration with Ajay Devgn after Raid. Vaani Kapoor is the female lead in this film, marking her first collaboration with both Ajay Devgn and Raj Kumar Gupta.

Ajay Devgn will reprise his role as Amay Patnaik, IRS Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax. The shooting of this film will primarily take place in various parts of Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. The official poster signifies the return of Amay Patnaik. Raid had a box office collection of more than Rs 150 crores and starred Ileana D'Cruz, Saurabh Shukla, and Saanand Verma in crucial roles alongside Ajay Devgn.

Vaani Kapoor was last seen in Ranbir Kapoor's Shamshera in 2022 and will be featured in the upcoming film Khel Khel Mein. Ajay Devgn’s upcoming films include Singham Again, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, Shaitaan, and Maidaan. Ravi Teja’s upcoming film Mr. Bachchan, directed by Harish Shankar, is the official remake of Raid.

Riteish Deshmukh who has previously collaborated with Ajay Devgn in comedy films like Masti, Cash, Himmatwala, & Total Dhamaal will be portraying the antagonist role in Raid 2. Riteish Deshmukh will be also featured in upcoming films like Visfot & Kakuda
