Khadaan (2024) Bengali Movie: Sujit Riino Dutta & Dev’s Maiden Collaboration

On January 28, 2024, Superstar Dev marked his 18th year in the film industry, coinciding with the release anniversary of his debut film, Agnishapath, in 2006. To commemorate this milestone, Dev made an official announcement, revealing that Jisshu U Sengupta would join the cast of his upcoming film, Khadaan. A motion poster featuring Jisshu U Sengupta has been shared, wherein he delivers the line, “Shasthre koiche purush manusher prodhan astar dhoirjyo aar birjo, Jay Guru,” before breaking into a smile.

Dev and Jisshu U Sengupta have previously collaborated on projects such as Premer Kahini (Jisshu’s Cameo), Arshinagar, Zulfiqar, Kelor Kirti, & Kishmish (Jisshu’s Cameo). However, Khadaan marks the first collaboration between Dev and Idhika Paul.

Directed by Sujit Riino Dutta, the film stars Dev in the lead male role and Idhika Paul, known for her role in Priyotoma, as the female lead. Dev is set to play a double role in this film. Earlier, on January 1, 2024, Dev unveiled the announcement teaser for the film, which is scheduled for theatrical release later this year.

Reports suggest that Barkha Bisht Sengupta and Bonny Sengupta will also join the cast, although an official announcement is pending. Khadaan is a joint venture between Surinder Films and Dev Entertainment Ventures.

Dev was last seen in Avijit Sen’s Pradhan and is slated to appear in Srijit Mukherji’s Tekka and an untitled film with Avijit Sen. Jisshu U Sengupta's recent appearances include Srijit Mukherji’s Dawshom Awbotaar last year and this year's Saindhav. He is also set to feature in upcoming films such as Visfot, Thalaivar 171, & Thug Life.
