On January 12, 2023, Addatimes revealed the trailer for their upcoming web series Cabaret. The web series, directed by Utsav Mukherjee, is set to premiere on Addatimes on January 26, 2024. Puja Banerjee takes on the role of Elina, while Satyam Bhattacharya portrays Swarup serving as the female lead and male lead, respectively.
The 2-minute and 20-second trailer opens with the song "Momo Chittey Niti Nritye Ke Je Nache". It provides a glimpse into the storyline, which follows the journey of a simple girl in 1970s Kolkata aspiring to become a Cabaret Queen—Elina. Puja Banerjee brings Elina to life, showcasing her exceptional dancing skills that have been present since childhood.
Shantilal Mukherjee, playing a pivotal character, becomes the catalyst for Elina's transformation, expressing his desire to see her become the best Cabaret dancer in the city. In a bar announcement, he introduces Miss Elina, setting the stage for her magical performance inspired by the renowned Moulin Rouge in Paris, recognized as the birthplace of high-energy, physically demanding dance performed by top dancers.
The plot takes a turn when Elina encounters Swarup, a Naxalite, and a romantic connection blossoms between them. The series promises to unravel their romantic journey, depicting how they navigate and overcome various obstacles. Puja Banerjee's portrayal of Elina is a major highlight in the trailer, while Satyam Bhattacharya's depiction of Swarup adds an intriguing dimension to the narrative.
