On October 27, 2023, ZEE5, the streaming platform, officially confirmed the release date for director Aranyak Chatterjee's mystery thriller, Nikhonj: The Search Begins. The film is set to premiere on October 29, 2023, and the announcement was made through the release of its trailer.
The 2-minute trailer opens with a romantic scene featuring Tanaya (Ridhima Ghosh), who is elegantly dressed in a saree, exuding her beauty. Her husband, Aditya (Somraj Maity), playfully begins reciting Shah Rukh Khan's iconic dialogue from "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai," saying, "Hum ek baar jeete hai, ek baar marte hai, aur pyaar bhi ek baar hota hai." However, Tanaya interrupts him before he can finish the cheesy line, expressing her inability to handle it.
As the trailer unfolds, we are introduced to a cab driver named Sam (Soham Chakraborty), who attempts to engage in a casual conversation with Tanaya. Initially disinterested, she later requests his phone and reveals that she has traveled to London alone in her quest to find her missing husband. Sam promises to assist her to the best of his abilities.
However, as Tanaya and Sam embark on their search for Aditya, they uncover a web of hidden truths. In one scene, Sujay Prasad Chatterjee portrays Habib Bhai, seen committing a murder and instructing his associates to locate Tanaya. Abhijit Guha also makes an appearance in the trailer.
