Deva (2024) Movie: Bollywood Directorial Debut for Rosshan Andrrews

Director Rosshan Andrrews, renowned for his award-winning Malayalam films such as Evidam Swargamanu, Udayananu Tharam, and Notebook, is set to make his directorial debut in Bollywood with the upcoming action thriller Deva. The film features Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde in leading roles and is scheduled to hit theaters on October 11, 2024.

Deva delves into the story of a rebel police officer portrayed by Shahid Kapoor, who faces significant challenges while investigating a high-profile case. In the first glimpse, Shahid Kapoor is seen sporting sunglasses, a white shirt, and holding a gun. Pooja Hegde's sole film release in the current year was Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, starring Salman Khan.

This announcement comes from Shahid Kapoor on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra. Deva marks the inaugural collaboration between Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films, and it also signifies the first-time partnership between Rosshan Andrrews and Shahid Kapoor. Furthermore, it's the maiden appearance of Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde together in a film. The filming has commenced and the makers shared a glimpse from the Mahurat.

Shahid Kapoor, a three-time recipient of Filmfare Awards for his outstanding performances in Haider, Udta Punjab, and Ishq Vishk, had a successful 2023 with his two projects, Bloody Daddy and Farzi. He will also be seen in an untitled romantic comedy alongside Kriti Sanon, directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah.
