Badami Haynar Kobole Official Poster: Abir Chatterjee is Detective Dipak Chatterjee

Superstar Abir Chatterjee has already etched a lasting impression in the hearts of audiences through his portrayals of various iconic detective characters, such as Feluda and Byomkesh Bakshi. Now, he's embracing a new challenge by stepping into the shoes of detective Dipak Chatterjee in the upcoming film Badami Haynar Kobole, directed by Debaloy Bhattacharya.

The detective thriller genre has seen significant growth in Bengali cinema, evident in recent films like "Byomkesh O Durgo Rahosyo," "Byomkesh Hotyamancha," and "Hatyapuri."

Badami Haynar Kobole also marks the production debut of Hoichoi Studios. The character of Dipak Chatterjee was originally created by the renowned Bengali writer Samarendranath Pandey, known by his pen name, Swapan Kumar.

In this film, the versatile actor Paran Bandyopadhyay will take on the role of Swapan Kumar. The film is scheduled for release this Diwali in November 2023, with music composition and background score by Amit Chatterjee, cinematography by Ramyadip Saha, and editing by Sanglap Bhowmik.

Debaloy Bhattacharya, known for notable projects like "Indubala Bhater Hotel," "Montu Pilot 2," "Charitraheen Season 3," and "Dracula Sir," not only directs "Badami Haynar Kobole" but has also written the screenplay and dialogues for this captivating detective thriller.

Abir Chatterjee's last blockbuster movie was Karnasubarner Guptodhon. Since then, he has appeared in "Maayakumari," "Fatafati," and "Biye Bibhrat," but none of them achieved significant success at the box office. Hopefully, his upcoming mystery thriller, Raktabeej directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, will fare better.
