Eklavya (2023) Trailer: Aritra Banerjee's directorial upcoming action thriller
The trailer for the upcoming romantic action film 'Eklavya' directed by Aritra Banerjee, an independent film, was released on July 20th, 2023. While the action sequences and background music are impressive, some viewers may feel that the 2-minute and 2-second trailer edited by Dipayan Roy reveals too many details about the story.
The plot revolves around Eklavya, a gangster portrayed by Devtanu, who is haunted by the loss of his mother during childhood. He is led into the dark world by one of the leading gangsters and eventually gets assigned the task of killing a girl. However, he finds himself falling in love with her. The central conflict arises when he must decide whether to follow his boss's instructions or save the woman he loves.
The film is presented by Syed Ahmed Shawki, known for creating 'Karagar' and 'Taqdeer'. Aritra Banerjee and the team should be commended for their courage in venturing into the action genre, which is not commonly seen in the Bengali film industry. The last action thriller we remember seeing was Jeet starrer action thriller Chengiz, and there are expectations to see Ankush Hazra starring in 'Mirza' soon.
Playing the main antagonist in 'Eklavya' is Jammy Banerjee, who has appeared in various films and web series such as 'Mouchaak', 'Katakuti', 'Tumi Ashbe Bole', 'Lalbazaar', 'Password', 'Kidnap', and 'Khyapa'. On the other hand, Annmary Tom, known for her role as Binapani Roychowdhury in the serial "Gramer Rani Binapani," takes on the female lead in the film.
The announcement teaser for 'Eklavya' was released on February 14th, 2023. Avijit Nath handles the cinematography, while Mithun Adhikari takes charge of the editing, and Hillol Acharjee & Suman Bhowmik are responsible for music composition.
Based on the trailer, it's evident that action choreographer Abishanko Goswami (Team Phanom) has done an excellent job, and Suman Bhowmik's background score is impressive. Additionally, Mrityunjoy Bhattacharya, Binita, and Master Ankit will be seen in crucial roles.
