Binisutoy Review: Story, Performances & Analysis

Srabani Baruah (Jaya Ahsan) and Kajal Sarkar (Ritwick Chakraborty) are two strangers who meet during the audition for a reality show called "Ke Pabe 50 Lokhkho". After the audition, Kajal helps Srabani when she falls and gets injured. They start talking and learn about each other's lives.

When it starts raining, they take shelter in a nearby lodge, and their time spent together becomes the best part of the movie, Binisutoy.

The movie's dialogues are weak, and the storytelling is not up to the mark. Director Atanu Ghosh, known for his genius storytelling in movies like Robibar and Mayurakkhi, did not deliver to the same standard in Binisutoy.

The relationship between Srabani and her brother (Kaushik Sen) was not clear, and actors like Kaushik Sen were underutilized due to insufficient screen time. Director Atanu Ghosh handled Kajal's relationship with his wife Jinia (Chandreyee Ghosh) and his son Kaahon (Samontak Dyuti Maitra) far better. The director also focused on Srabani's relationship with her colleague Aarya (Kheya Chattopadhyay).

Ritwick Chakraborty and Jaya Ahsan were outstanding with their respective characters. Chandreyee Ghosh, Samontak Dyuti Maitra, and Kheya Chattopadhyay were also convincing in their performances.

The cinematography by Appu Prabhakar and the music by Debojyoti Mishra were the other highlights of Binisutoy.

Binisutoy marks the second collaboration between Jaya Ahsan and director Atanu Ghosh, who had previously worked together in Robibaar opposite Prosenjit Chatterjee. This is also the second time Ritwick Chakraborty has worked with director Atanu Ghosh after Ek Phaali Rodh. The two are collaborating again for the upcoming movie 72 Ghanta. Meanwhile, Atanu Ghosh has recently wrapped up the shooting of Shesh Pata, starring Prosenjit Chatterjee, Gargee Roy Chowdhury, and Vikram Chatterjee. Ritwick Chakraborty's maiden web series Gora is currently streaming on Hoichoi.
