Binisutoy Movie Review: Story
Srabani Baruah(Jaya Ahsan) and Kajal Sarkar(Ritwick Chakraborty) two strangers met during the audition of a reality show titled “Ke Pabe 50 Lokhkho”. After coming out from the audition room Kajal saw Srabani fall into the field there. He took her to the nearby hospital for treatment as she got a bit injured.
They had a few conversations about their daily life while returning from the hospital. Then suddenly rain started there and they had to wait in a lodge nearby. The moments they spent together and the conversations they had during that time were the best parts of Binisutoy.
Binisutoy Movie Review: Performances & Analysis
The dialogues were quite weak and the storytelling was certainly not up to the mark in Binisutoy. Director Atanu Ghosh is considered one of the genius storytellers whose last two movies Robibar and Mayurakkhi were far better than Binisutoy.
The bonding between Srabani & her brother (Kaushik Sen) was not so clear and someone like Kaushik Sen went underutilized due to insufficient screen time. Director Atanu Ghosh has handled the scenes between Kajal and his wife Jinia (Chandreyee Ghosh), & Kajal and his son Kaahon(Samontak Dyuti Maitra) far better in that respect.
He was also good at giving sufficient focus on the relationship between Srabani & her colleague Aarya(Kheya Chattopadhyay).
Ritwick Chakraborty and Jaya Ahsan both were outstanding with their respective characters. Chandreyee Ghosh, Samontak Dyuti Maitra, and Kheya Chattopadhyay were also convincing.
The cinematography by Appu Prabhakar & music by Debojyoti Mishra were the other good things about Binisutoy.
Binisutoy marks the second collaboration between Jaya Ahsan and director Atanu Ghosh, she has previously worked with him in Robibaar opposite Prosenjit Chatterjee.
After Ek Phaali Rodh, this is the second time Ritwick Chakraborty has worked with director Atanu Ghosh. They are also collaborating for the upcoming movie 72 Ghanta, while Atanu Ghosh has recently wrapped up the shooting of Shesh Pata starring Prosenjit Chatterjee, Gargee Roy Chowdhury & Vikram Chatterjee. Ritwick Chakraborty’s maiden web series Gora is currently streaming on Hoichoi.
