Eken Babu 6 (Ebar Kolkatay) Review: Story
The series begins on a night of rainy day when an unidentified person comes to Dola’s boutique and requests shelter from the owner Dola (Angana Roy) due to the bad weather condition & she grants it.
Ekendra Sen, aka Eken Babu (Anirban Chakrabarty) along with his friends Bapi (Suhotra Mukhopadhyay), and Pramatha (Shomak Ghosh) went for a casual visit to the exhibition of the famous painter Binay Dutta (Loknath Dey).
ABG Nursing Home’s publicity manager Bikash Sen (Honey Bafna) was murdered and the killer moved his body away to Bagbazar. The owner of the nursing home Abani Mukherjee wanted to keep the reputation of the nursing home unaffected so he appointed Eken Babu to investigate the case.
Rakhal Dutta (Subhrajit Dutta) is the investigating officer from the Lalbazar who found two more murders Arup Chowdhury (Indranil Mullick) and Tanmay Dutta to have some similarities with Bikash Sen’s murder. Will Eken Babu be able to find out the serial killer?
Eken Babu 6 (Ebar Kolkatay) Review: Performances & Analysis
Like all the previous seasons, Eken Babu 6 (Ebar Kolkatay) is an Anirban Chakrabarti show. His performance won’t disappoint you instead he has delivered some amazing scenes which will make you happy.
Whether we talk about his conversation with nursing home owner Abani Mukherjee or his Khoka uncle (Biswajit Chakraborty), or Sudeb, or at Mallika’s (Satakshi Nandy) house in front of her husband Malay (Apratim Chatterjee) each one of these scenes is hilarious. Anirban Chakrabarti’s expressions, sense of humor, and comic timings are nearly unmatched. The shooter will remind you of the character of Bob Biswas.
Subhrajit Dutta as Rakhal and Loknath Dey as Binay Dutta looked okay but they deserved some more screen time. Somak Ghosh and Suhotra Mukhopadhyay supported well with their respective characters. Angana Roy who delivered a good performance in the Srikanto web series looks convincing as Dola. Honey Bafna, Indranil Mullick, Sreya Bhattacharya, Apratim Chatterjee, Satakshi Nandy, & Biswajit Chakraborty provided good support.
Director Joydeep Mukherjee once again is successful in creating a comedy-based mystery thriller. But his previous web series including Rudrabinar Obhishaap, The Eken, Uttoron, & Rudrabinar Obhishaap Season 2 were also not so good in the execution part.
The story is quite predictable and lacks any thrilling moments, but it has solid performances from the lead cast which will make it a worthy watch.

Eken Babu 6 (Ebar Kolkatay) is a good comedy mystery series. It is not the kind of thriller that we often come across and if you are expecting a thrilling experience then you might be disappointed.
