High Webseries Story & Performances:
The story revolves around the drug addict Shiv Mathur(played by Akshay Oberoi) struggling with his life and addictions. One day he received a call from his ex-girlfriend Neha who invited him for a get-together.
At that get-together party, he came to know that Neha is getting married. They had a fight and Shiv took a drug injection. After some time they find him senseless in the washroom.
One of his friends requested the bar manager to help them without informing the cop.
At the beginning of the second episode, we were taken back in1970 at Madhumalai Forest. A doctor and his three colleagues were searching for a herb. The herb helps in curing Alzheimer's disease.
Shiv opened his eyes and came to know through Nakul (played by Nakul Bhalla) & Sweta(played by Shweta Basu Prasad) that he is in a medical research centre for his treatment.
Shiv used to get a different kind of drug at the research center. That particular drug used to take him to a completely different world, reminding him of his sweet childhood memories.
He realized that it has changed his life and he feels no more addicted to drugs. Dr. Roy(played by Prakash Belawadi) checked the symptoms and understood that the drug is working fine.
In the meantime, The Govt notice came where it has been informed that the bank has put that research facility cum rehab centers as court receivership.
They have to pay around 28 crores or else have to leave the place.
They had no other option except to take help from Shiv to pay such a huge amount and save the research facility. Shiv plans to sell the drugs called “Magic” getting in touch with his old contacts. One of his good friends Dj(played by Mantra Mugdh) earns some commissions by selling other people’s drugs.
A ruthless killer Jackson Lakda(played by Ranvir Shorey) whose past still haunts him. He works for a renowned person from the medical field.
A news anchor Aashima(played by Mrinmayee Godbole) is fed up working on some random useless content. She is interested in working as a journalist with some great stories but she doesn’t have any story in hand at the moment.
Magic slowly captures the drug market which makes the drug dealers worried. The local drug lord Munna (played by Kunal Naik) faced difficult times. On the other hand, another drug Peddler Jimmy (played by Madhur Mittal) buys Magic from Shiv and earns huge profits.
Director Nikhil Rao is absolutely a genius. He delivers A completely new story that was successful in keeping the suspense alive. The way he has finished the climax gave an indication about the upcoming season 2.
Talking about the performances we must not deny that Akshay Oberoi gave one of his finest performances here. Among so many other faces it was Ranvir Shorey left a mark with his high performance in the “High” webseries.
Kunal Naik and Madhur Mittal were equally convincing with their respective characters. FInally Not to forget the good contributions from Prakash Belwadi, Shweta Basu Prasad, Mrinmayee Godbole, Nakul Bhalla, Mantra Mugdh.
The first couple of episodes might seem quite boring and you will wonder about the real story of the High web series. If you are looking for a crime
thriller with a different concept then the High Web series will be worth watching.
