The long-awaited trailer for Atlee's maiden Bollywood directorial venture, "Jawan," has finally been unveiled today. This action-packed thriller features a story penned by the director himself, complemented by S. Ramanagirivasan's contribution to the screenplay.
Spanning 2 minutes and 46 seconds, the trailer, released on 31st August 2023, reintroduces Shah Rukh Khan as a dynamic action hero, delivering impactful punchlines. Khan's portrayal as an action star in Siddharth Anand's "Pathaan" has already left a significant mark, making it the highest-grossing Indian film of 2023 so far.
In "Jawan," Shah Rukh Khan returns in a dual role, a familiar concept for him following previous appearances in films like "Karan Arjun," "Duplicate," "Paheli," "Om Shanti Om," "Don: The Chase Begins Again," "Ra. One," and "Fan."
The trailer introduces Vijay Sethupathi as the primary antagonist, Kalee, who claims the position of the world's fourth-largest arms dealer. Highlighting high-octane action sequences, impactful dialogues, a heartfelt father-son dynamic, and a gripping hijack situation, the trailer provides a glimpse of the film's enticing elements.
Nayanthara portrays a police officer in the movie and shares a romantic moment with King Khan, where she playfully challenges him to deliver a romantic line to impress her. Shah Rukh Khan's versatility is on full display as he embodies various roles, including that of a soldier, a police officer, and a hijacker.
Produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma under Red Chillies Entertainment, the action thriller Jawan marks the debut collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Atlee, promising a mix of action, romance, impactful dialogues, and all-around entertainment for the mass audience.
Sumit Arora, known for his dialogues in films and web series such as "Dahaad," "The Family Man," "Stree," "Ginny Weds Sunny," "Guns & Gulaabs," and "’83," has crafted engaging dialogues for "Jawan." The film's music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while editing is handled by Ruben, and G.K. Vishnu takes charge of cinematography.
With a budget of approximately Rs 300 crores, "Jawan" is set to hit theaters worldwide on 7th September 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. Notably, the film is also scheduled for a simultaneous release in Bangladesh on the same day, marking the first time a Hindi film will premiere there alongside its Indian release.

Distribution rights for "Jawan" are divided among key players: Pen Marudhar Entertainment for North and West India, Yash Raj Films for international release, Sri Venkateswara Creations for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Red Giant Movies for Tamil Nadu, and Sree Gokulam Movie for Kerala.
