The Family Man Season 2 Web Series Story & Performances:

Many of us were eagerly waiting for the release of “The Family Man Season 2” on 12th February 2021 as earlier announced by Raj &DK but a controversy surrounding the web series “Tandav” on Amazon Prime forced us to delay the release.

The wait was finally over as Raj &DK’s much-awaited project “The Family Man Season 2” arrived on Amazon Prime on 4th June 2021.

Season 2 introduced us to the popular South Indian actor Samantha Akkineni. She did not leave any stone unturned to make her digital debut a memorable one.

In the climax scene of The Family Man Season 1, we saw Zoya (Shreya Dhanwantary) and Milind (Sunny Hinduja) narrowly escape death. Zoya is stranded in a wheelchair for life and Milind is battling trauma after that incident.

Srikant Tiwari(Manoj Bajpayee) is working in an IT firm now after leaving his job at the Threat Analysis and Surveillance Cell (TASC). He is trying to bring a balance in his work life and personal life by giving more time to his family.

On the birthday of Suchitra(Priya Mani), a husband-wife fight led Srikant to leave the job and rejoin TASC and Suchi also met with Arvind (Sharad Kelkar) to finalize her rejoining the job. The show gathered momentum when Srikant rejoined TASC.

An attack on the Indian and Sri Lankan Prime Ministers was planned and for that, a sleeper cell of Tamil rebels was activated to join hands with the Pakistani ISI.

Raji (Samantha Akkineni), a factory worker and also a Tamil rebel, was waiting for a call to rejoin her team. She was spending her days facing many difficulties including harassment from an unknown guy and also the factory manager, she killed both of them later.

The best part of the show was undoubtedly the kidnapping episode of Srikant’s daughter Dhriti(Ashlesha Thakur) by a terrorist Kalyan AKA Salman, who was pretending to be her boyfriend.

We do not often come across the second season of a web series as impactful as season 1. That is the exception we experienced while watching The Family Man Season 2.

After a successful Season 1, it was a challenging task for the creator duo Raj & DK to meet the sky-high expectations of this show. I can say they accepted the challenge and succeeded in it. Suparn S. Varma was the new entry in the directorial team and he didn’t disappoint either.

Samantha Akkineni was the show stealer of The Family Man Season 2. She deserves all the appreciation for accepting such a challenging role and portraying it beautifully.

Talking about the performance of Manoj Bajpayee, we can say that he was uninfluenced by the grand success of season 1.

Among others, Chennai agent Ravindra Vijay and Devadarshini were quite convincing. Sharib Hashmi, Priya Mani, Mime Gopi, and Sharad Kelkar also delivered valuable inputs.

If you are a fan of the spy-thriller genre then you can add The Family Man Season 2 to your watchlist.
