Kafas (2023) Review: Story

The story of Kafas revolves around Sunny Vashisht (Mikhail Gandhi), who is set to make his Bollywood debut in the upcoming film SuperDaddy, alongside superstar Vikram Bajaj (Vivan Bhatena). However, Sunny reveals to his parents through a video, Raghav Vashisht (Sharman Joshi) and Seema Vashisht (Mona Singh), that he has been abused by Vikram Bajaj. The series delves into Raghav and Seema's pursuit of justice for their son.

The TV series directed by Sahil Sangha & produced by Applause Entertainment and Madiba Entertainment has been adapted from the British drama miniseries Dark Money.

Sharman Joshi delivers a top-notch performance as Raghav Vashisht, establishing strong bonds with Seema, Sunny, and Shreya (Tejasvi Singh Ahlawat). The narrative also pays sufficient attention to his relationship with his ex-wife Meghna (Mona Vasu) and their son Yash Vashisht (Araham Sawant). Noteworthy scenes featuring Sharman Joshi include his interaction with his son regarding the school incident and the climactic scene with Vivan Bhatena.

Mona Singh convincingly portrays Seema Vashisht, and her scenes with Araham Sawant and Tejasvi Singh Ahlawat are particularly touching. Mikhail Gandhi's portrayal of Sunny Vashisht is captivating, especially in the emotional scenes. Vivan Bhatena delivers a fine performance as Vikram Bajaj. While the narrative's pace slows down in the 4th episode, it picks up again in the 5th episode.

Preeti Jhangiani as Tanya Bajaj, Zarina Wahab as Neelima, Mona Vasu as Meghna, Mukesh Chhabra as Irfan Akhtar, Tejasvi Singh Ahlawat as Shreya Vashisht, Ethan Manjani as Agastya Bajaj, and Araham Sawant as Yash Vashisht provide strong support in their respective roles.

Final Words:

In conclusion, 'Kafas' on SonyLIV is a brilliantly executed mystery thriller by Sahil Sangha that is definitely worth watching. The engaging storytelling and top-notch performances from Sharman Joshi, Mona Singh, Mona Vasu, Mikhail Gandhi, and Vivan Bhatena make it a compelling series.
