Yashoda (2022) Telugu Movie Review: Story

The story revolves around Yashoda (Samantha) who decides to become a surrogate mother to fulfill her financial needs. After arriving at the surrogacy center, she became suspicious of many activities, and to be sure that something wrong was happening around her, she risked her life against the surrogacy mafia. Will she be able to expose the culprits behind this surrogacy scam?

Yashoda (2022) Telugu Movie Review: Performances & Analysis

Watching Samantha Ruth Prabhu in action thrillers is an enjoyable experience. Earlier she left a good impact with her performance in the action thriller web series The Family Man: Season 2. Her spectacular performance in Yashoda will keep you engaged. She looks good in the action sequences as well as the emotional scenes.

Yashoda is Samantha’s second movie in 2022 after Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal and she will be featured in upcoming movies like Shaakuntalam, Kushi, and Aaradhya.

Unni Mukundan looks convincing as Dr. Gautham in the second half but did not look much effective in the first half. This is his 4th movie in 2022 after Khiladi, 12th Man, & Meppadiyan.

Varalaxmi Sarathkumar will also catch your attention in the second half with a top-notch performance as Madhu. This is her 5th movie in 2022 after Pakka Commercial, Iravin Nizhal, Poikkal Kuthirai, and Kaatteri. Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, and Sampath Raj also provided valuable contributions with their respective characters.

Though the story does not look unique, the writer & director duo Hari and Harish added some good elements and a few twists in the script that made the story gripping after the interval. The Cinematographer M. Sukumar and Editor Marthand K. Venkatesh deserve credit for their fantastic works. Music by Mani Sharma looks okay in this action thriller.

Final Words:

You will find many flaws in the narrative of Yashoda but the action sequences and the solid performances from Samantha, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Unni Mukundan are worth your time.
