The 2 minutes 32 seconds trailer of Govinda Naam Mera introduces us to choreographer Govinda Waghmare (Vicky Kaushal). He is unhappy with his married life as his wife Gauri (Bhumi Pednekar) doesn’t value his talent and treats him like a maid at the house & calls him Goveya.
Govinda and his girlfriend Suku (Kiara Advani) who is also his dance partner shares some sweet moments. The trailer hints at the chaos and laughter surrounding a mysterious death that forms the story.
The highlights of the trailer are the comedy scenes that looked interesting, Vicky Kaushal in a completely different avatar, stunning Kiara Advani, & Bhumi Pednekar’s character.
This is Shashank Khaitan’s 4th directorial movie after Dhadak, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, & Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. He is quite good at romantic comedy movies & Govinda Naam Mera is a combination of both romantic comedy & murder mystery.
The movie was earlier titled Mr. Lele with Varun Dhawan in the lead role but Varun Dhawan left due to creative differences as per the official announcement & Vicky Kaushal was roped in also, the makers changed the title later.
Looks like Vicky Kaushal is choosing the script more carefully these days as apart from Govinda Naam Mera which is his only movie to be released this year, we got 1 film per year from him for the last 3 years; Uri: The Surgical Strike in 2019, Bhoot-Part One: The Haunted Ship in 2020, & Sardar Udham in 2021. He will be also featured in upcoming movies like Dunki, Sam Bahadur, & The Great Indian Family, apart from an untitled film with director Anand Tiwari, and an untitled film with director Laxman Utekar.
This is Bhumi Pednekar’s 3rd movie in 2022 after Badhaai Do, & Raksha Bandhan. She will be also featured in upcoming movies like Bheed, Bhakshak, The Lady Killer, & Afwaah.
