Chup R Balki’s First Thriller Genre Movie:

Director R Balki is collaborating for the first time with Sunny Deol & Dulquer Salmaan for his upcoming psychological thriller titled “Chup: Revenge of the Artist”. To pay tribute to the legendary filmmaker Guru Dutt, the motion poster was released on 10th October 2021 which is the death anniversary of Guru Dutt. He was mostly known for his outstanding works in movies like “Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam”, “Kaagaz Ke Phool”, “Pyaasa”, and “Chaudhvin Ka Chand”.

Akshay Kumar & Amitabh Bachchan who have already worked with the director shared the motion poster on their respective social media handles. Akshay Kumar even termed the poster as “intriguing”. “Chup” is Balki’s first thriller genre movie & his 6th directorial project. The movie will be bankrolled by Hope Productions and Rakesh Jhunjhunwala.

Amit Trivedi will compose the songs for this movie while Vishal Sinha will be the Director of Photography. It is written by R Balki while the screenplay & dialogues were co-written by R Balki, Raja Sen, and Rishi Virmani.

The National Award winner director R Balki made his directorial debut with the movie “Cheeni Kum” starring Amitabh Bachchan, Tabu, and Paresh Rawal in 2007. His last directorial movie was “Pad Man” starring Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, and Radhika Apte which was released in 2018.’

Dulquer Salmaan was last seen in director Shamzu Zayba’s movie “Maniyarayile Ashokan” in 2020. Sunny Deol was last seen in director Behzad Khambata’s movie “Blank” in 2019, while his last directorial movie “Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas” starring his son Karan Deol, had also been released in the same year.

Pooja Bhatt, and Shreya Dhanwanthary will be also playing crucial roles in “Chup”. Actress Pooja Bhatt was last seen in “Sadak 2”. Shreya Dhanwanthary gave an outstanding performance playing the character of Sucheta Dalal in “Scam 1992”. She has also delivered top-notch performances in web series like “Mumbai Diaries 26/11”, “The Family Man” & The Family Man Season 2.
