Navarasa Web Series Review

Navarasa web series stories:

Looking for an exciting anthology series? Switch to Netflix and you will find the latest one “Navarasa” which was released in the first week of August. It was not so long when we saw “Ray” on the same platform. Today we will discuss the review of “Navarasa” in this article.

Nine short films, nine different elements, and top stars from the industry have come together for “Navarasa” to keep you hooked to your seats.

Let us have a brief look at the nine different stories of this series:

Episode: Edhiri

Director: Bejoy Nambiar

Music Director: Govind Vasantha

Cast: Vijay Sethupathi, Revathi, Sai Tamhankar, Ashok Selvan, Prakash Raj

Edhiri Story:

Dheena(Vijay Sethupathi) killed Savithri’s(Revathi) husband(Prakash Raj) to take revenge for his brother’s death. After returning home he found an unidentified person in his house trying to speak with him but Dheena kept ignoring him. But finally, he shared his story with that person and came to know he was the person whom he killed. The man makes him understood that repressed anger in him killed the man. Understanding his fault Dheena decided to go to Savithri to seek her forgiveness for his deeds.

Vijay Sethupathi, Revathi, and Prakash Raj’s performances were top-notch. Director Bejoy Nambiar deserves the credit for bringing the best from these three top performers of the industry.

Episode: Summer of '92

Director: Priyadarshan

Music Director: Rajesh Murugesan

Cast: Yogi Babu, Remya Nambeesan, Nedumudi Venu

Summer of '92 Story:

A famous comedian Velusamy (Yogi Babu) shares his past struggles behind today’s success in “Summer of '92”. He failed multiple times in 9th standard but he became a popular comedian. He was not a meritorious student during his school days but owing to his current popularity he is invited as the chief guest of their school.

Schoolteacher Lakshmi (Remya Nambeesan) had a pet dog named King. Her father, the principal (Nedumudi Venu) tried many times but failed to throw King out of their house. Finally, he decided to hand over the task to Velusamy and what happened then was hilarious.

After a disastrous “Hungama 2”, Priyadarshan looked in his usual form in “Summer of '92”. Yogi Babu’s comic timing was mind-blowing. Remya Nambeesan, Nedumudi Venu also provided good support with their respective characters.

Episode: Project Agni

Director: Karthick Naren

Music Director: Ron Ethan Yohann

Cast: Arvind Swami, Prasanna, Poorna, Sai Siddharth

Project Agni Story:

The story of “Project Agni” revolves around Vishnu (Arvind Swami), a scientist who once rejected ISRO’s (Indian space research organization) offer. He keeps himself busy researching for the universe and time, the reality and the future.

One fine day he invited his friend Krishna(Prasanna) to show him his research and invention. He was assisted by Kalki (Sai Siddharth) during the invention of Drifter.

After the conversation, he decided to suicide but he could pull the trigger, the ringing of the doorbell stopped him. He found Krishna and his wife has come, he realized earlier it was Kalki who came in disguise of Krishna.

Arvind Swami was at his best in “Project Agni”. Karthick Naren’s direction and Ron Ethan Yohann’s background score deserve appreciation.

Episode: Guitar Kambi Mele Nindru

Director: Gautham Vasudev Menon

Music Director: Karthik

Cast: Suriya, Prayaga Martin

Guitar Kambi Mele Nindru Story:

Kamal(Suriya) is a young musician of the country. While looking for new opportunities he realized that the lack of resources in our country might stop his growth. He wants to be a great composer and perform in front of the world, so he wanted to go to London with his mother.

During the recording of a song, he meets singer Nethra(Prayaga Martin). Both of them felt something special for each other.  They later shared their feeling and fell in love.

Despite Suriya and Prayaga Martin’s best efforts, the lack of depth in the story made it look like an average directorial project from Gautham Vasudev Menon. Karthik scores high with his composition.
