Will Vibe Continue Kunal Kemmu’s Winning Run As A Director?

Kunal Kemmu is back with his second directorial venture, and the teaser of Vibe suggests that he could be gearing up to deliver another fun-filled entertainer. Written and directed by Kunal Kemmu, Vibe is presented by Amazon MGM Studios India and is set to release in cinemas on 18 September 2026.

Vibe Movie Teaser Release Date Kunal Khemmu

The film stars Preity Zinta, Kunal Kemmu, Sparsh Shrivastava and Vanshika Dhir. Sparsh Shrivastava, who has impressed audiences with Laapataa Ladies and the web series Jamtara, appears in a completely different space here, while Vibe marks Vanshika Dhir’s Bollywood debut. Preity Zinta, who returned to Bollywood after nearly eight years with Batwara 1947, looks energetic and perfectly suited to the film’s quirky world.

The teaser introduces Kunal Kemmu as Hardik and Sparsh Shrivastava as Bugs, two unlikely secret agents who find themselves responsible for a mission far bigger than they ever imagined. Their lack of confidence and obvious inability to handle the situation create plenty of comic moments, while the teaser also promises chases, action and explosive set pieces.

What makes the teaser particularly interesting is the balance between comedy and action. Rather than taking its spy-agent setup too seriously, Vibe appears to embrace its absurdity and use the characters’ unpredictability as a major source of entertainment. The chemistry between Kunal Kemmu and Sparsh Shrivastava also looks promising.

After making his directorial debut with Madgaon Express, Kunal Kemmu won both the IIFA Award and Filmfare Award for Best Debut Director. That film established his ability to create a comedy that connected with audiences, and Vibe gives him an opportunity to take that strength into a much bigger action-comedy space.

Kunal Kemmu is also the writer and co-producer of the film, producing it with Chirag Nihalani under Drongo Films. The supporting cast includes Dinesh Lal Yadav, Yashpal Sharma and Salem Guermat. Amit Trivedi has composed the music, with lyrics by Kumaar, while Kaushal Shah is the cinematographer. Prachi Deshpande serves as production designer, and Anand Subaya and Sanjay Shrirang Ingle have jointly handled the editing.

The teaser may not reveal everything about Vibe, but it certainly creates the expectation of a lively, unconventional entertainer. If Kunal Kemmu can recreate the humour and warmth that worked in Madgaon Express while successfully combining it with the action promised here, Vibe has a strong possibility of becoming another enjoyable watch.
