25 July 2014 is certainly a memorable day for Sajid Nadiadwala, as it marked the theatrical release of his first directorial venture, Kick. It turned out to be a dream directorial debut, with Sajid collaborating with Salman Khan for the first time and delivering a blockbuster.
Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Mithun Chakraborty played pivotal roles alongside Salman Khan in the film. A. R. Murugadoss was initially signed to direct the film, but after he became unavailable, Shirish Kunder was considered as his replacement.
Ultimately, however, Sajid Nadiadwala took over the director's chair and made his directorial debut with the film. Made on a budget of ₹140 crore, the film earned ₹211.63 crore nett at the Indian box office and an estimated ₹402 crore worldwide, becoming a blockbuster and the second-highest-grossing Hindi film of 2014, after PK.

Although hunted by Himanshu, Devi's true motive is eventually revealed—he steals to fund life-saving treatment for critically ill children. After bringing down Shiv Gajra, Devi joins the police force, proving his fight has always been against corruption rather than the law.

Kick succeeded because it delivered exactly what mainstream audiences expected: a charismatic superstar, catchy music, stylish action, comedy, emotional payoff, and a larger-than-life hero with a memorable character arc.
