A journey of finding purpose, courage, and identity, Lakshya completes 22 years today!

Released on 18 June 2004, this inspiring war drama not only explored personal transformation but also became one of the most memorable coming-of-age films of its era.

Directed by Farhan Akhtar and written by Javed Akhtar, Lakshya starred Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta in pivotal roles. The film was produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, with cinematography by Christopher Popp and editing by Anand Subaya.

Lakshya marked Farhan Akhtar's 2nd directorial venture after Dil Chahta Hai. The film also marked director Farhan Akhtar's first collaboration with Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan. It further became his 2nd collaboration with Preity Zinta after Dil Chahta Hai.

The music was composed by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, marking their 2nd collaboration with director Farhan Akhtar after Dil Chahta Hai. The film also brought together Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta for the 3rd time after Mission Kashmir and Koi Mil Gaya.

Backed by Excel Entertainment and UTV Motion Pictures and distributed by UTV Motion Pictures, the film was made on a budget of ₹30 crore. Despite receiving appreciation over the years, Lakshya collected a total India nett gross of ₹23.55 crore and was declared a flop at the box office.
