Born and raised in Mumbai, Sidharth Anand grew up with a deep fascination for movies. Cinema was not just entertainment for him—it was a language. Influenced by global filmmaking and Indian storytelling, he dreamed of creating films that felt modern, emotional, and larger than life.

Before beginning his journey as a director, Sidharth Anand worked as an assistant director, learning the craft from the ground up. He was part of three films during this phase of his career: Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi released in 2001, Mujhse Dosti Karoge! released in 2002, and Hum Tum released in 2004. These early experiences helped him understand storytelling, performance, and large-scale film production from close quarters.

He made his directorial debut in 2005 with Salaam Namaste, a film that stood out for its fresh approach to relationships and contemporary storytelling. He followed this with films like Ta Ra Rum Pum and Anjaana Anjaani, earning recognition for romantic dramas backed by strong emotions and polished visuals.

Refusing to be limited to one genre, Sidharth Anand took a bold turn toward action cinema. With Bang Bang, he introduced slick, Hollywood-style action and international scale to Bollywood. With a box office collection of Rs 332 crore, Bang Bang became the 4th highest grossing Indian film of 2014, firmly establishing him as a director capable of delivering big-screen spectacles.

That evolution reached new heights with War. With a box office collection of Rs 475 crore, War became the highest grossing Indian film of 2019. The film showcased his mastery over large-scale action and his ability to present superstars with style and impact.

In 2023, Sidharth Anand delivered a historic blockbuster with Pathaan. The film collected Rs 1050 crore worldwide, becoming the second highest grossing Indian film of 2023. More than just a box-office success, Pathaan marked the grand comeback of Shah Rukh Khan and established Sidharth Anand as a filmmaker who knows how to present a global icon on an international cinematic canvas.

In 2024, he continued his success streak with Fighter. With a box office collection of Rs 344 crore, the film emerged as the eighth highest grossing Indian film of 2024, further strengthening his reputation as a consistent blockbuster filmmaker.

One of the biggest reasons behind Sidharth Anand’s success is his exceptional collaboration with superstars. He understands how to present a global star like Shah Rukh Khan and an action superstar like Hrithik Roshan, blending their screen presence with scale, style, and emotion to turn each collaboration into a cinematic event.

Now, all eyes are on his most anticipated upcoming film, King. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, and Rani Mukerji, the film has already created massive buzz. Many believe King has the potential to break multiple box-office records and set new benchmarks for Indian cinema.

From romantic storytelling to record-breaking action spectacles, Sidharth Anand’s journey reflects ambition, vision, and fearless evolution. His cinema speaks the language of global audiences, and his story is still unfolding.
