Jab Tak Hai Jaan Movie Budget, Box Office, Collaborations

Yash Chopra's directorial romantic drama film Jab Tak Hai Jaan completed 13 years. Starring Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles, the film was released in theatres on 13th November 2012.

Namrata Rao edited this film, marking her first collaboration with director Yash Chopra. The film was produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films, which also handled its distribution.

A. R. Rahman composed the music for this film, marking his first collaboration with director Yash Chopra. The film marked 2nd collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan marked the maiden collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. Anil Mehta handled the cinematography of this film, marking his 2nd collaboration with director Yash Chopra after Veer-Zaara.

In supporting roles, the film featured Sarika, Anupam Kher, Neetu Singh, Rishi Kapoor, Sharib Hashmi, Andrew Bicknell, Jasmine Jardot, Jay Conroy, Gireesh Sahdev, Varun Thakur, Amarinder Sodhi, and Manoj Bakshi.

At the Filmfare Awards, the film received eight nominations and won four awards: Best Supporting Actress (Anushka Sharma), Best Lyricist (Gulzar for “Challa”), the Lifetime Achievement Award for Yash Chopra, and the R.D. Burman Award for Neeti Mohan (“Jiya Re”).

The film earned six nominations at the IIFA Awards and secured three wins — Anushka Sharma for Best Supporting Actress, Yash Chopra as IIFA Forever Director, and Shah Rukh Khan as Digital Star of the Year.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan is Yash Chopra’s 22nd directorial venture and his final film before his death. Made on a budget of ₹50 crore, the film grossed an estimated ₹235 crore, becoming a commercial success and the third highest-grossing Hindi film of 2012, behind Ek Tha Tiger and Dabangg 2.
